Default Interesting find on motor thefts

So, I am in central Florida and I am looking for spare EZ Lube hib xaps for my trailer. I have been to a couple boat dealers in Brevard and Orange Counties. I shared my story with them about my motor theft.

Turns out this a big thing here now. One dealer had two contenders with twins just stolen and about 15 Yammies removed from boats. He said they had surveillance video and it helped police catch a few . They were illegal immigrants from Mexico part of a gang. Similar story from a guy in Breavard County. I am purposefully not saying who these folks are as they were candid and in this PC world I don't want to bring any political correct wrath upon them.

I don't know who took my motor but in 24 hours I have found out it is everywhere in urban areas in the state and likely from Mexican gang activity.

If this true , millions of dollars of hard earned money is being siphoned off from gangs and likely from people who have no legal right to be here. I find this to be wrong on so many levels. I am not trying make this political but the reality of it, our nation's lack of border enforcement and political climate are costing us millions in boat and motor theft. Never mind the rape and capital crimes committed , those crimes are directly harming innocent people. I am venting and frustrated .

Don't think you will find one person here that does not understand your frustration. You work hard to buy a toy and scumbags just take it from you, with seemingly no or very little consequence's. The only answer is make the penalty's harsh enough. I really hope you are made whole. But in the long run even if you are you will pay for it in the future with higher insurance rates, we all will pay. At least the law abiding folks.

Yes.

I believe minorities commit more crimes per capita. I also believe minorities get treated more harshly by law enforcement.

That's what some professional victims claim.

The more I here about that state and it's problem especially the crime and boat thieves the more I am liking where I am at. Always wondered why the insurance companies were always inquiring as to where my boat was being stored. Kinda wierd then but makes sense since the Florida thieves must really suck a lot of loss coverages out of these companies.

PC has been the cancer of our nation- quit worrying about feelings, do the right thing, and get your ass to work.

In my past career I was an environmental planner which meant I did consultant government work. My masters degree is environmental planning and resource management. Still,la dee da ,but in that course of study I took a course on demographics and economic analysis. News flash,Mexicans are WHITE. It is an ethnic group like being Italian or Irish or German. My point is if Canadians were doing it and they were here illegally running a the ring would it make the problem any worse or should I say better? If and I mean if, the dudes who ripped me motor were here illegally, it makes it a bit worse because had they not been here illegally, I would be wetting lines at this moment 30 miles off Port Canaveral.

Since I have nothing but anecdotal evidence based on recent thefts in Central Florida I can speculate that they could be illegals. I can do nothing more than that and at the end of the day, I don't give a rat's a$$ their ethnic or racial background. They are dirt bags and one guy is right, my insurance will make me whole, my rates could go up, your rates are impacted by this and if you reside here in the Sunshine state your rates will likely be going up due to the criminal activity.

I can't begin to try to solve the issues or crime, race, poverty, economics and so forth. With that said, some people do desperate stuff to feed their kids or save their homes or what have you. Most criminals do it to make a quick a buck and appear to have no soul as their deed's impacts on their fellow man.

Lastly, to put this in perspective for me. I am pissed about the time lost and such. I am thankful they did not harm my hull or damage the bracket. I have posted before about my kid. I have 3. My middle kid contracted group b strep during labor and 24 days later nearly died from a massive brain bleed. Kyle is blind, severely disabled and LOVES boating. He is now 18 and this boat is as much for him as it is for me. My youngest son developed epilepsy 3 years ago at 13. His life has been turned upside down.

My point is at the end of the day it is just a motor for me. I have been through worse. Upon hearing dealers stories here in Central Florida it seems the perps could be affiliated with a gang or crime ring whose members are not in our nation legally and if that is the case, our open arms policies are costing citizens black, white,Hispanic, etc money and sometimes their lives in the crimes committed by folks who should not be here to begin with. These guys took more than a motor, they took about 1/3 of Kyle's 2017 boating season. That's what matters to me perhaps the most.

Gee, let me see. When cars were getting boosted all over the place the manufacturers figured out it was in there best interest to adopt technology to make it harder to steal a car. You'd think the insurance industry would begin to take notice and put some pressure on the marine industry to do the right thing as well, or are they hesitant to do anything that will cause a dip in premium returns (pure numbers game)........

Pisses me off the amount of hassle protecting your property involves. I keep the boat at home. My trailer is blocked by a 3 ton truck and the grounds are monitored 24/7 by CCTV. I've lived in this neighborhood for 24 years and NEVER had any issues. Now thefts are a regular occurrence and I'm sure its only a matter of time. I sure hope their not stupid enough to break into my home.

I can tell you this. It was a Mexican Illegal that was hitting every where around me on the west coast off Florida. Over a half a million in 5 weeks including 3 motors and 11 Lower units in my marina.

They caught his sorry as and he had a multi page rap sheet with 2 deportation notices.

Why was this scum still here.

My brother lived in Marathon. Two guys from Miami thought that they had discovered virgin territory and were stealing the electronics from boats. The judge gave the first guy 13 years, his lawyer actually said that this crime would get probation in Miami. The judge told the lawyer that his client should have stayed in Miami.
