Default Robo Calls

Apparently this is the number one complaint from constituents to congress.

A Federal tax of one cent per robo-call assessed by the phone companies on robo callers would generate $276,000,000.00 per year. Congress so far has refused to stop them. If we ring the magic money bell maybe they could tax them out of existence or at least cut them back significantly?

I'd like to see that, but it seems the FCC can't even figure out who the robo-callers are. Hard to tax someone whose call center is offshore.

Crap - I knew this seemed too easy. But they have to somehow interface with the American phone companies, don't they?

Nope. The calls might come over regular lines but they are usually done over VIOP with spoofed numbers.

Install Mr. Number on your cell if you are having a problem. Works great!

B/W Mr Number on my cell and NoMoRobo for land line the calls are greatly reduced. I also have Xfinity show the caller on the TV when the phone rings.
