I agree and so does my G-Shock. But I really enjoy wearing my Rolex. It's just something nice to have and wear. I have friends that always talk about buying one but they don't want to spend the money on one. I tell them we use to spend a lot more going out and partying it up in Miami or possibly a few bad nights in a casino. At least you'll have something that won't depreciate much. Especially if you get 20% off in the islands. Just my .02.

if it was my coin, I would buy used. Probably save you 2-3k vs new. I have a 2000 rolex sub with no date. my jeweler just serviced it. polished it up and it looks brand new. Worn every day for 17 years and no problems what so ever. never take it off.

In what way is Breitling "far superior"? And also, Corum have got to be the ugliest watches ever made.

Submariner is in the short list also.

Not a big watch wearer so something the wife can wear is a plus. She has a 26 mil datejust with pink and jubilee band

Take a look at the Sea Dweller it is a really nice one also. To me this is my favorite.

Try $400 - $600.

They are impressive. Some Rolex owners buy them as daily wear.

There a various grades or levels of knock offs. If you want a good one that will last you pay 500 and up.

The most expensive thing I ever bought was an engagement ring in St Thomas.

I buy stuff in STT often. I tried to declare something once and they damn near arrested me for being the only person to declare in ages!! The couldn't even find the forms.

Wear the watch home and send the box home in the mail.

I've worn my Sub 24/7 since 1998 and am on my third crystal and second band.

I've never seen a knock off that I couldn't spot from 100' away.

The knock offs they make nowadays are scary good. Down to high end Swiss automatic movements. Unless you're a very serious enthusiasts and take look at the movement, it's very hard to tell. I'd be afraid of dropping that kind of coin outside an authorized reseller.. And I'd personally get an Omega instead

Default Just because

They have Rolex watches, make sure they are a TRUE Rolex dealer. Rolex is a fixed company, my wife wanted a new dial face, They had to send the old one in before they would send the one she wanted. Good investment, I bought hers for $1800 and now after 30 years, it is worth much more. Funny, she now wants to sell it and prefers her two Citizen watches.

I've seen 'em side by side. Virtually identical. The only difference was the way the second hand moved. Even weighed the same.

I have this friend who makes it a point of buying his wife a piece of jewelry the day they depart from their holiday on St.Thomas at the same store every time. Last time he bought her a Ruby that she would later set in a ring . She appraised the stone and it came out to 30K. The friend bought the stone for 6K. Just sayin. They are sometimes able to really make great deals.
