Was at ours last week which was one of the original ones slated to close before they decided on doing all. Very slim pickings left but had 50% off all appliances. Had a couple nice pieces left.

I really liked them and the prices were very competitive. That sucks...

The internet killed the brick and mortar stores.......except for Walmart and they are going after Amazon with their free shipping now.

Best Buy will probably be the next chain to close their doors.

I guess the extended warranty on my tv I bought from them last year will be worthless.

This is a plague lately. We used to be in the electronic and appliance business, there are very small margins in it and you need to sell a lot of volume. Do we really want to do everything online?

Unless you want to pay more then internet will win over brick and mortar. The brick and mortar stores that survive will doing both like a Lowes type store.

My wife bought all the stuff from HH Gregg when we bought a house a few years ago. She brought her laptop into the store and item by item she found the lowest price. They matched each price and then gave us a 10% discount because it was an entire suite of appliances. It was the top of the line KitchenAid model which they had to special order. I knew then they would not be in business very long.

Just picked up a Bosch dishwasher for over 60% off. Screaming deal. Now all I have to do is figure out how to install it. Can't be too hard, don't know about the bending over part though.

It is sad to see companies that have been around that long not be able to stay open but just the way the world is .

We bought our current tv in our den there several years ago, had nothing but good service from them while there

However appliances seem to last longer now and I am sure profit margins are very thin

Everyone talks about walmart killing the mom and pop stores, I'm thinking amazon is the real killer now

Stopped by tonight but didn't see any real awesome deals. Probably time it right in the next weeks and you just might hit a great deal.

Why won't these large retail stores man up (or team up) and compete with Amazon, instead of rolling over? They have space, so can house/ship products regionally like Amazon and add more products. Amazon's isn't winning on 'best deals', but on convienience and fast shipping. It's a biz model that can be duplicated (as WM is doing now). Imagine if Macy's, Sears, HHGreg, Best Buy, Lowe's (add your favs) teamed up? Losers declare bankruptcy and puss out.

went once or twice, found the store itself well laid out, but their product line and prices were nothing special. If I had a choice between HHGreg and Best Buy, I would go to Best Buy.
