TERRIBLE STORY, thanks for the link

I will use it i my Teen Driving School

texting is as dangerous, or more dangerous, than drunk driving. Hopefully he gets equal punishment as a drunk would.

They actually proved that with just talking on a cell phone on myth busters. They did a course better legally drunk then the did just talking on a phone. Texting takes it to the next level.

Hopefully there is some prison time involved. That was a worst case scenerio that actually happened.

as bad as I hate lawsuits it's past time for a class action suit against cell phone companies, phones should not text if they are moving past a couple miles per hour.

I guess you are all for gun mfg's being liable for someone committing a crime with their gun also? Total nonsense. I'm so tired of everyone looking to sue people into using common sense.

BTW how would it work for passengers riding in a car? I guess they can't text either?

RockportFisher 04-01-2017 05:30 PM

When is the world ever going to take personal responsibility. You want to sue the cell phone companies and make it where if the phone is moving it can't text. So now if I am riding in a vehicle I can't text either. Enforce the laws we have. We already have no texting while driving

STEELA 04-01-2017 05:47 PM

They already install hard stops in installed Gps units in cars if the car is moving, so the strawman anti regulation crowd is missing that fact.
It's common sense for the mfg to save humanity from itself sometimes

williamwallus 04-01-2017 06:04 PM

I admit I txt at stop lights like most do but these losers need to pay attention

tired driving can be worse then txt or even drinking... people need to not be D's on the road... not cool

Hooper 04-01-2017 07:02 PM

Think about how much concentration most of us require to type on a keyboard. Doing it while driving is nuts.

thajeffski 04-01-2017 07:18 PM

Self driving cars can't get here fast enough! Text all you want while the car drives itself!!

Turtle9343 04-01-2017 07:19 PM

All people who text and drive, or talk on the phone and drive, should be sent to prison for the rest of their lives.

johnny.dollar 04-01-2017 07:27 PM

More people just need lots of time in jail. When snowflake 16year old suzzy ends up in jail for 15 years.......

thajeffski 04-01-2017 07:46 PM

has been happening for years... haven't heard of anyone actually going to jail though.

You're an idiot and obviously don't hate lawsuits.

yes I do," just fishing for a rise", so we all agree we want texting and driving reigned in but the question is how do we do it, when everybody is doing it, and a lot of it means we sit at green lights while Suzy in front of us thinks her time is mre valuable than yours and you sit there while she finish's her texting, what can be so important that it can not wait until they get where they are going or just pick up the phone and TALK!:rofl::rofl:

What does that mean? I've never heard the term used in that context.

As for texting while driving, people are going to do stupid things. I've seen it a lot on my pre-dawn commute. Some dumbass speeding up and slowing down, swerving in the lane, etc. I decide to pass them and as I go by, sure enough, their face is lit up by the screen's glow. :nono:

I'm not sure what they are doing but they are probably either texting or reading THT updates or something equally as important. Me, I can barely drive my desk and text so driving the truck and doing it is out of the question.

Well, he will have time in prison to think about the 13 lives he took. My guess is that he will kill himself in prison or shortly after he gets out.

Tainui 04-02-2017 05:22 AM

Applause for both police departments as well. "Not my job" didn't save 13 lives that day.

That kid must be dumb as a stump. I can't stand people texting and driving but he was about the worst example I've ever seen.
