I used to get calls from some Indian guy who said he wanted to talk to "the diabetic". When I asked him for a name, he repeated "the diabetic. I told him to F off. I remember how big the wife's eyes got, because she'd never heard me use that language around the house or on the phone.

There are no diabetics in our house. It was a cold call leading up to some scam. Almost certainly the same thing in your case.

It could be the scam where they record you saying "yes" as if you are giving them permission to do whatever.

Sounds probable.

I'm at the point that I have NO problem using a bunch of 4-letter words when I even THINK it's a telemarketer or potential scammer - NONE! Haven't "picked" a wrong one yet.

I'm ALSO at the age that I don't CARE what other people think about my general attitude, short temper, use of foul language, political views, or my "women's feet" photo collection!

Regards,

I don't know how old you are but I feel the same way. My wife has always said that when men turn 55 they turn into a-holes. Count me in, I am an a-hole & I don't giveadamn what anyone thinks anymore!

Do you have an extra print of traditionally bound Japanese feet? That will complete my collection.

If the call doesn't make sense I just hang up. Too many scams to piss away time arguing with them.

I will start to talk to them, then just put the phone down. They will continue to talk for a while untill they realize I am not there anymore. They play a numbers game, call enough numbers and they will find a sucker. I waste their time cutting down their potential calls. Makes me feel better to waste their time like they wasted mine.

Who answers the phone anymore when you don't recognize the number?

If they leave a message I'll listen.

I have an extra picture of tradionally bound japanese feet, but you have to say "yes" into the phone clearly when my Nigerian friend calls.

They are trying to get information. More than 50% of people have back pain at sometime or another so if he makes enough calls he'll eventually find a sucker that gives him their name, birthday, and ss# or credit card number for some miracle of medicine that he claims to have. Then you know the rest of the story.
