Default Fell Marine

Wow, ordered mine Wednesday morning arrived Thursday at lunch. The 30% discount code is mobplusintro. It says it can be shared with 5 people but I found the same code on THT and it worked for me. Can't wait to install.

Install was easy and the product works great! I've had mine for six months or so and you don't even realize you have it on.

Humph........

Guess the sharing with 5 friends is a ploy ? That's the same code they sent me.

Drink up fellas that's the code!

Great product. Just ordered another one for my new boat. Its an essential piece of gear that i must say works perfectly in a non-emergency setting so far. Hopefully i never have to use it for real.

This is great. I just ordered one. I was not aware that this product was on the market. I remember thinking several years ago that with the advent of Bluetooth tech., that something like this was needed and would come along eventually.

Now if they could just integrate something like this into the fly-by-wire throttles, power steering, and GPS systems on most newer boats, to the effect that the boat would drive its self back to within 25 feet of you.......that would be a must have for open water fisherman.

I had missed the THT thread on these.. I really like what they did with this. I always thought the autotether looked like a complete hack and the mechanical link was risky.

Ordered one, thanks for the code!

I wanted to say I got this unit in the mail yesterday. I haven't hooked it up yet but am impressed with what I got for the price. If it works as well as they designed the packaging, instructions, etc, (which I don't doubt - it's just a relay after all) I'll be very happy.

interesting concept. Couple observations,

Their website does not appear to function, Unable to advance from the shopping cart

I feel like they are a nickel and dining me. I give them 200 for the device, and then they want another 24 for a lanyard that will hold the beacon? The little plastic sleeve must be all of $.75 to produce, but they don't include it in the package? Is it realistic to create fob without an attachment? Do not love that.

I actually don't totally disagree with this... what do I do with the little FOB if I don't have the wristband? Put it in my pocket and hope it doesn't fall out?

I dunno. I like it, and thought about doing it for the four of us... code no worky...

Strange, I just ordered the other day but you're right, something appears to be up with the cart today.

All in I was at $164 for the unit and wristband. That's including tax, shipping etc. This seemed very fair and is literally half the price of the competition.

Normally I would agree with you 100% about the wrist thing, but I was really happy with everything that showed up. I was expecting a cardboard box with some photocopied instructions, but got a real retail product with a multilingual install guide with color diagrams etc. Fingers crossed that it performs as well as it looks. I'll probably get it installed in a week or two. I'm honestly not expecting to use it very often, but occasionally I like to go out solo and this will make me feel much better about that. I'll probably leave the wristband in the console where it is easy to grab.

IMHO the product is very fairly priced as well as the accessories. And if one can take advantage of the discount even better. Ask yourself, "Is my life worth $224?". If you answer no, then you have other issues to worry about.

Fair answer, though by your logic, there is almost no cost for this product that cannot be justified.

I will very likely purchase, and my observation is simply around how they choose to package there product. Not giving me a way to cary the FOB (other than my bathing suit pocket) for $200 strikes me as a tad grubby. I have no issue with upselling a product, but I would suggest that they are selling an incomplete base package, and grinding on the upsell.

Only my opinion.

I appreciate your opinion and you make a good point regarding cost and justification. But you did say "nickel and diming" which is just pocket change.

I will say I have this product on my vessel which gets lots of use and I am very happy with the product. I believe you will be as well.

Your correct on all counts. Stupid irish streak in me, but when someone starts grinding me for the small stuff, I dig in my heals. entirely counter productive and immature, but there you have it.

That said, I am pretty clearly getting one. Curious, do you plan on leaving the remote on board? I know I will likely only wear it when I boat alone -about 10% of the time- as such, my bet is that it will be easy to forget. I am thinking I can simply hang the fob in the cabin (So it is always in range) then simply wear it on my person when I am alone. (Of course I will probably duct tape to my chest as I am too pissy and stubborn to give them $20 for a lanyard.)
