My wife is from Caguas PR and moved to SC 6 years ago. PR is a great island, but there are some negatives. Traffic is horrible. Be prepared to wait in line for everything. Electricity is very expensive. At times you can go without water for a while. Do not leave anything in a car someone may view as valuable or you will loose it. That being said, I love the island just be aware of these issues and others and you will have a pleasant time.

PR is wooing the rich by promising Zero Capital Gains if you live there at least 183 days a year.... yes as a US citizen you will pay zero capital gains on your world wide income.

This is attracting many wealth to its shores....
