Dont be a hater. My prius did just fine towing my jones brothers 17. And what's worse a guy in an f450 diesel towing a garden trailer with 2 bags of mulch or a Prius with a boat?

Over the years I have towed everything from small utility trailers to 39' boats. I started putting a 2 5/16" coupler on all the trailers so I didn't have to swap ball mounts every time I want to pull something. Worked out great for me. Maybe they have something similar going on?

That looks like the adapter so you can use a 2" mount on a 1.25" hitch. It would reduce how much tongue weight the car could carry because of the leverage.

What's worse is this is Merica. Why do greenies have to find instant justification for what they see with their eyes? What makes you think that F450 owner doesn't have a reason for that kind of towing power on other outings? Also, nobody would be surprised that a Prius could tow your 1000 lb rig.

Same stupidity as making fun of a car with a hitch on it that obviously does NOT need that towing power. Always remember girls....there is probably someone pointing back at you, laughing too.

I did see a prius at Lowes the other day with about 10 sheets of drywall tied to the roof. They did however put 2x4s down first.

I was going to take a pic but they were actually in the loading process. I didn't want to be that guy.

I have a tow hitch on my Camry and have stuff tied on the roof at least once a week, but this dude is insane. Gotta love the "heavy duty" string he used. Looks like it may be tied to the windshield wiper on the passenger side.

I think you should replace "NEED" with "HAVE", but I will go think about it more in my safe space far away from your gender bashing. Don't hate me because I'm a girl who bought a pink F550 for my grocery shopping. Also, what is a tow hitch anyway?

If you are referring to me I wasn't making fun of it. Just making light as it being overkill. The original receiver hitch and receiver are capable of the max towing of the Prius. So what they added does absolutely nothing to help them towing if they are towing legally under the manufacturer's limits.

Kinda the same principle you are saying that a person doesn't need a diesel to pull a small trailer.
