Default SRT8 or Scat?

Buying one or the other tomorrow but I'm torn. SRT is a 15 Certified Pre Owned 2k miles. No title salvage or Lemon Law issues. It's an automatic
Ugh... 42k. Scat is a 17 new. Shaker pkg. 46k and its a stick. Which I want. I just love theSRT packaging but new out of my price range.

Tough choice. The SRT is a nicer car but the Scatpack comes close. Keep us informed of your choice.

I currently drive a 2008 SRT8 since new and will be ordering a new SRT8 or Hellcat in the next couple weeks. I W2W race a 5 speed but know I don't want to shift gears in a daily driver. I considered the scat pack but I really want the upgrade stereo that comes with the SRT8 (or HC). Some of the other options aren't important to me. 2K miles isn't much but it's still a 2 year old car if resale matters. (won't if you keep if 4-5 years)

BTW: I can get a new SRT8 built like I want for about $50K (not interested in the sunroof, auto braking or side monitoring packages).

Depends on if the complaint involves the GF/Wife.

And then there's the new Hellcat Demon they are starting to give hints at debuting at the NYC auto show this year.

My issue is, mid life crisis and all, is as a youngin I always had bigblock sticks. Loved the feel. Then 30+ years passes and that has not gone away. But the SRT is a beast. Auto Stick or not. I just think the SRT is is something that holds it "stigma?" More than a common Scat would.
I love you guys. Mention cars and BAM!!

Heard about that on the news today or yesterday - the "Hellcat" will be re-badged as the "Demon" - still Challenger body - for the "'18" model year.

Did some PC guy decide "hell" was not appropriate in a car name that may be displayed on the body?

Regards,

It was nice knowing you. 😬
While I agree a stick is preferred. I sit in bumper to bumper traffic for several hours a week. That has me considering the auto stick as a potential option for me.

I commute a stick shift car, always have. Something about heal toe driving and revmatching downshifts just adds to the whole experience when the driving gets "sporty." I'd even take a stick in my truck if it were offered. But in all seriousness I think you will regret not getting a stick in your midlife crisis sports car.
