I'm not a math wiz, but I think whoever laid that out looks at a pie a bit different than the rest of us. Did they offer any explanation?

What were you expecting?

I have been thinking to get this done - might be a good laugh.

Who did you use and how much did it cost?

Anyone else have experience with this?

Hey, good news is if you are on THT, you likely have life going pretty well for you, but I can definitely understand your interest from a curiosity standpoint.

Wouldn't worry about Saddam being a relative based on what you posted. A lot of people don't know this, but before 1948 there were about 300,000 Jewish Iraqis whose ancestors had been there for thousands of years. Your 15.4% is from one of those folks it looks since that was the same percentage as Sephardic Jewish (though technically many middle eastern Jews are not Sephardic but that is what European Jews call them anyway).

Being 100% Italian is nearly impossible because there were many periods in history when Italy (southern Italy and Sicily especially) were conquered by various other groups such as Arabs, Greeks, the Bourbon French, and so on. It is quite possible that your Italian mother contributed a lot of different nationalities to the mixture.

Look at it differently: the European/south European/ Italian are not separate so count that only once

Same with Asia and west Asia.

Jews wandered around Europe, Asia and northern Africa for centuries.

So what he has come up with makes very good sense.

The %'s add up. They repeat in the subsets is all.

So your Mom is Italian, maybe almost all Italian. Father could easily be a Frenchman with a very mixed parentage. Remember the French settled many areas of the world.

Not sure what West Asia consists of, but that and Middle East, Shephardic Jew, could be very close in terms of geography. Same goes for Middle East and North Africa.

In your circumstances it would be really interesting to get the same info. about your father that you have had done. I realize it is unlikely to be possible.

Just keep in mind the parents that adopted you took you without any DNA or other parameters.

Tapping any willing partner has been going on for as long as there have been humans.

We are all horndogs.

Too bad so many people can't accept that when looking at someone, especially someone who looks different.

I am going to send a sample in to another company to verify if I get the same results. Will keep you updated.
