Default Back in the boating game

Well after over a year since I sold my Pursuit I took the plunge and bought another one. I thought I could do with out as I have friends with boats that will take me out anytime they go but its just not the same.
So I pulled the trigger on a rare 25 Blackfin combi w/ twin 200 Optis that came up for sale in Pensacola. I had been looking enough to know that if a good boat that is priced right is for sale you have to move fast. A couple of weeks a go I was surfing the inter web and found the boat in Pensacola. I called the owner the and made him and offer. I am heading to Pensacola on Friday to do a sea trial and test and check out of Saturday.
I was sure I wanted out of the boat business however my wife said she would divorce me by April if I did not find another boat.( I am not all that fun to be around on the weekends in Stuart) That was all the incentive I needed.
Pics soon to follow on Saturday after the sea trial. I am very happy although not to pleased to trailer a boat from Pensacola to Stuart but no hill for a climber.....and it all begins again

Think of it this way, Look at all of the drivers you will get to educate both there and back

Hopefully with a boat! Otherwise post pics of the wife if she is going to be on the market

Yep. The day you buy your boat and the first time you got laid.

Was there something wrong with your Pursuit that turned you off to boats?

Hmmm I got tired of slip fees and the maintenance of in boards. The slow cruise speed of my boat was a real inhibitor of what I wanted to do. I've owned boats since 1990 so I was kind of burned out. Then the weekends would come along and there was nothing to do. My wife was telling me to get another boat or else. So I guess boating is a part of who I am.
I really wanted a used contender or regulator type boat in the 25 to 27 ft range could never find what I wanted. The Blackfin has a 24 deadrise with a 60 degree entry with a small cuddly so I think its a good trade off.

I can totally relate! It was like this when I gave up flying. I gave up the career aspirations years ago when my charter gig dried up, but I kept instructing on weekends until I finally burned out. My wife also said find a new hobby or else :-) I was totally miserable to be around.

I got into boating and LOVE it. Enjoy your new toy!!
