"A 100-Drone Swarm, Dropped from Jets, Plans Its Own Moves

Once launched, the swarm can decide for itself how best to execute a mission."

Pretty amazing footage to watch them collectively execute three different missions, it's like something from a Sci-Fi movie.

I hope suicide drones in the future will blot out the sun of our enemies and that they can hear them coming knowing they will die in the hands of hundreds of explosive drones.

Very cool.. AI meets the battle field from 40,000 feet, released at 500,000 miles per hour. Add a little C4 and good by ISIS.

I saw a small-scale (6 - 10 drones) demo of the swarm tech and it was amazing.

I don't know if you mean biblical or Skynet, either seems quite possible

A friend of mine works for a drone development company. His area of expertise is micro/nano technology. He claims that some drones will be so small, they'll be able to pass through the screen on a window.....you won't know they're in the room with you.

Skynet was what came to mind. I was joking of course, but I swear we're heading in that direction. Not that I'm saying machines will take over and attempt to anialate the human race. But I do believe alot of the stuff we've seen in science fiction movies is / will become reality.

New drones flying in combat conditions are going to have autonomous decision capability to shoot/no shoot. Skynet lives!

The US military has been experimenting with individually-targetable multiple ordinance dropped from aircraft for many years. If you've read Tom Clancy's "The Bear and the Dragon", you can get an idea of the capabilities-although at the time that was written is was conceptual.
These things can target and destroy hundreds of armored vehicles with only a few aircraft releasing them.
Cool stuff!

It's all fun and games till the bad guys get ahold of them. Imagine a "swarm" of explosive drones launched above a NFL stadium during a playoff game.
