Default Any Delbert McClinton fans out there?

He's got a new CD out, "prick of the litter", damn, who else but Delbert could come up with a title like that? It's a little different from his usual stuff....more...introspective maybe? Kinda "jazzy"? Here's one track-

Yessir. We go to the Tater Jam every year but have never been on one of his cruises. But, I like his sax player better. She can play a sax like nobody I've seen. I met Dana Robbins in Nashville a few years back make a point to look her up at the tater jam. I even have her autograph with a pic of a sax she drew on the back of my sweatshirt in a shadowbox in my office. My wife got Delbert to sign her shirt and it's in there too. I'll see if I can find a pic of it. I got his "nothing personal" cd for Christmas but need to get the new one.

I've been a Delbert fan since about 1980. Pro Tip: Create a DMc Pandora channel. You'll get lots of good DMc songs plus lots of other good stuff.

Delbert did a New Year's gig at a SHOPPING CENTER (inside) here in Richmond for a couple of years MANY years ago.

ALWAYS a favorite song at the Richmond Shag Club when the wife and I use to go!

Regards,

For a long long time Delbert Mcclinton and John Hiatt, were in the CD player 24/7.

My mom met him at one of his concerts years ago. He got her number and called to ask her out on a date. I answered the phone but she wasn't home. Talked to him for a few minutes. Nice guy. She never did go out with him.

One of my favorites

Delbert also reminds me of Doug Sahm in the way they sound and how you just can't put them in any specific music category.

Pretty sure I saw him as an opening act for a Skynyrd tribute band show at Blossom 10-15 years ago.

"Livin' it up" and "Mama's little baby" are two of my favorites.
