I can only speak for myself, but without having the ability to filter the list in any way, the email is starting to become things I don't really care about. I suspect if Gander Mountain was added it would be even more overwhelming.

As an example, right now I'd like 1 more PLB, 1 pair of mark free boat sandals, and a new tackle box.

I use http://slickdeals.net/ a lot. They allow me to get alerts when specific things come up, as an example, any time an irrigation controller or z-wave item comes up, I want to know about it as I'm looking to purchase those things.

JJ, I agree there needs to be the ability to set at least category preferences.

Let me ask you this - what does slick deals not do that you'd want to see here?

I think slick deals does a terrific job, but it's missing the automated feed piece that you're building. Users have to post good deals. An automated pull would be much more effective than relying on users to find the good deals. Slickdeals is massive, so they have less of an issue with this, but in the smaller boating community I don't think Slickdeals would work due to lack of man hours participating in the site.

Just wanted to say thanks. Bought a couple things this week that were on my list and on sale!

If you add stores, I would rather they be in separate emails.

You're welcome! I'm glad you found something worth buying because of it. I did as well I did miss out on the $26 Costa sunglasses and a $58 downrigger though. The downrigger was my fault though. I shared it to the deals thread and by the time I had done that it was sold out.

Thanks for your feedback. What I'm working on next is to make it more category & product oriented. This way people can choose the categories they are interested in, and not see the stuff that doesn't interest them and when a product is shown I hope to pull in the price from other retailers as well so it shows whether it really is a great deal or not.

Haven't pulled the trigger yet on anything, but wanted to say thanks again for setting this up. Highlight of my work morning is perusing these deals

Sorry I missed this reply. I'm glad you're enjoying them. I do too, although it makes it hard to resist buying stuff!

slickdeals.net is no longer allowing to be shown ammo or gun's ad's.
have been slickdealing for several years now and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Until now that is.

Great! I've been working on improving delivery so it doesn't get spam boxed. Glad to know it's working.

I don't know it my method to grab deals would translate to guns/ammo since that market is unique due to the demand and such, but if you want to let me know common sites you buy from I'm happy to take a look and see if can make something that might work.

I honestly can't say that 1 purchase from 1 site more than others, as like boating, the hunting/shooting gamut is just as, if not more so diverse.
I honestly look for the deals such as what your doing with West Marine and contemplation with Gander Mountain.

In essence, I personally am not looking for any one thing in particular I rather enjoy looking for deals.

Vertigo if you can post 4-5 of the sites you'd say are more common I will look at them and see if this might be something that can apply. The curated deals tend to be more subjective to market conditions vs just sale/closeout but I'd love to take a look.

In other news, my programmer has started working on improving this. I don't have a date yet but we are going after category preferences and more immediate notification once a deal is found.

Not even a week in and already have 2 orders placed!

Thanks again for setting this up

Also, I would agree with adding other sites/companies.

Category preferences would be great, but otherwise it's a really nice implementation. The feed has been working flawlessly for me. Thanks!

Glad to hear! We have the category prefs as priority #1 and my programmer has some work done on it but it has been sidelined for a very important client deadline. I'm hoping he can pick it back up in March but we gotta pay the bills first.
