Default I'm officially old, when did you realize?

OK, for the last couple of weeks I've been listening to AM talk radio on my commutes to/from work. It's now a habit; I'm reminded of my dad doing this.

What was it for you?

Couple of years ago I went from chasing it, doing and saying anything for it, being gone from home for days at a time in quests for it, to I now have to be asked if I want some and even then it is a 50/50 I'm even willing.

The 180 I've done over the last couple of years has been abrupt...... Guess I'm getting close to take me out to the pasture and shoot me

When I started making a noise when I got out of a chair, a grunt, a sigh, a creak, a crack, or a fart. If I need to get on the floor for anything, I take a few seconds to think if there is anything else I need while I'm down there, so I don't need to do it again

Try this simple test

My measure is...when you begin walking, when you begin running, when you stop running, then stop walking.

I don't run anymore.

I don't act or feel old but my wake up call was comparing blood pressure meds with my mom.

I use to roll out of bed in the morning.
Now I fall out of bed & reach for the nearest whatever to grab ahold of just to get up in the morning.

It all works, just not like it use too & ALOT slower................

When my knees hurt from a 2 mile jog and I need two days to recover.
When I wait to clean the boat the next day after fishing.
When I cant pull an all day diving or fishing trip and want to be home by 3.
When I don't really give a shit anymore about others opinions.
When it takes two days to recover from a night out partying.
When I am panicking about my retirement plan.
Etc etc etc.
Damn I just turned 43 today.

Whichever one first made you think, hmmm.

It doesn't have to be a physical limitation or change, sometimes it's as simple as not letting somethings bother you that used to make you crazy.

Re: Grunting getting up from a chair.

When I started grunting to just flop down in a chair should have been my first sign.

It all started for me around 45 when I would go to bed healthy and wake up injured.

When I used to check out of Home Depot or Lowe's w/a cart full of bags of concrete or similar stuff, the cashier would offer to get someone to help me load it in my truck. I'd decline. Now when I check out w/anything at all, I sometimes get the same offer. wtf?
