Well happy Birthday.

I can feel it. Be 60 next month.
Can't run anywhere like I use to the thought of a 100 yard dash brings the dragster into mind.

Hearing aids, glasses, NOSE is still fine. ain't nothing wrong with that, Food taste is what I have noticed a lot of difference in . Food just does not taste as good as it did back in my younger days.

Thing that have increased.

I have ZERO tolerance for drama and BS. Find myself quieter than I was back when but I watch and listen to others in a different way now. What ever the current girl friend wants to do is ok with me, easy to please long as the few rules of the house are not violated.

Enjoy all the toys, wanted to top those off so all seasons are covered.

DD i have really noticed a change. Totally out the street sports car the more class and high text stuff on the inside of the cars I like them.

Still pulling 80 hours a week, work hard play harder, everything still works in the making mama happy.

Things I have got smarter about.

CCW Suppose I was a bad ass back in the day. Still stretching the chains and climbing rails with work but I know if a fight broke out I am not as good as I once was but almost as good as I ever was. CCW makes life equal.

1st time - at 40 - that BLACK cake and decorations were tuff to endure!
2nd time - at 64 when I sold my boat and bought my first MUSTANG
3rd time - at 65 - when I got my Medicare card
4th time - at 67 or so when I had to get a HERNIA fixed
5th time - at 69 (this past July) - when I bought my FIRST convertible (with "heated seats")
6th time - at 70 (October) - when I applied for social security

I also feel "older" because NOW, I don't really give a flyin' what I SAY or DO anymore - as long as it's faintly legal!

NOTE: I think "liveaboard74" has THE best attitude on life and livin' it!

Regards,

When I looked at my receipt from the fast food joint and the cute little gal at the counter had given me the Sr Citizens discount. Ouch....

When you remember that you will need reading glasses for the menu when leaving car to go in restaurant.

When you have all the answers but no one cares.

When the girl at the check out smiles and talks nicely to you because you remind her of her grandfather.

For the aches and pains we get... ''pain is weakness leaving your body".

Not that it makes me stronger but it does increase my resolve to never, ever quit. When I got both my knees replaced at the same time I realized how true it was to believe pain can be your friend. I went dancing last night.

ouch

I'm 34 so I didn't feel old, but at thanksgiving my Dad gave up his seat at the head of the table and told me to sit there.

I breezed by 50, I didn't feel any older, still doing beach dives with 50 lbs of gear, 60 was a different story. Things got harder, more huffng an puffing. I started seeing various doctors several times a year, before 60, it was a doctors visit about once every 10 years. 70 is real close but I'm still kayaking, swimming and doing boat yoga. Boat yoga is the twisting, turning and odd positions you do, to work on an old inboard boat. It just takes me longer to untwist.

What is the Greta Garbo saying, "Only a fool celebrates getting older"?

However, I guess it is ok to celebrate surviving another year. Happy Birthday!

For me, it was about a month ago, when I was in Mcdonalds and placed my order and accidentally asked for it to be "super sized". The kid at the counter looked at me confused and my wife laughed at me and corrected me. I laughed and asked the kid if he remembered when super size was an option at Mcdonalds. He said he had absolutely no idea what that even meant. It was that moment I knew I was old. By the way, I just turned 39.

I realized it a few minutes ago when I read this thread:
http://www.thehulltruth.com/dockside...hen-drunk.html

I didn't even crack a smile. Not one funny thing and the dumb ones weren't all that dumb.

You are old when you fall down and nobody laughs, you are really old when they rush over to help you up.

- When I think about the sh*t I gave my Dad 30 years ago for getting old and knowing that I'm older now than he was then
- When the kids at work come and ask for advice.
- When my knees bitch at me for kneeling on the floor.

and the big one
- When I realized daily metamucil was a better option than just sitting and gruntin' at it in the morning
