Default Best Red Dot for AR Under $200

The wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I was thinking about a decent lower price red dot. I know there are good ones around the 500 price but that may not be in the Christmas budget this year.

Let's hear from anyone with good examples of decent red dots for 200 or less.

I've tried a few and found the less than 200.00 dot sights to be less than desirable.

Father just picked up a holosun after a ton of research, and it's reliable, unlike the cappy sightmark I picked up for an AR22.

I just scored a screaming deal on a illuminated 1-6 votex strike eagle for 250 at optics planet. So good I bought 3 of em, lol. Red dot is great up close but I'm really starting to prefer some magnification.

Do it once and do it right. If it's not in the budget wait and get something else.

Check this one out. I got one for my PSA M-4 and love it. Check out the reviews. It has years of battery life and is all most need since they sit in the safe more than it's used. I'm sure you can find a deal on it this time of year.

Pretty sure primary arms sight is a rebadged Holosun.

I don't get the red dot craze, except the holographic variety for pistols. Maybe good for 3 gun or something like that I guess. If I'm not shooting irons I want magnification. Most of the stuff I shoot wont get close enough for quick target acquisition of multiple targets to matter.

That Primary Arms looks interesting. I may try one and if I'm not happy with it on the AR, I may put it on my 12 ga or my sons 15-22. I have iron sights now with the carry handle. I shoot mostly at the range and occasionally in the woods. I'm not looking for super long range accuracy. I want to make it easier for my wife and young kids to acquire the bulls eye so we can enjoy our range time more.

Absolutely the one of the best economy red dots is the Bushnell TRS 25. It is light, small and tough.

Check Amazon and other places and all the reviews. I have one personally that I have had for several years, no issues.. It is fairly tough, granted it is on a range gun but it get banged all the time and functions great for a sub 100 buck sight... You won't be disappointed..
