Default Need new gun recommendations.

Looking to get something new soon. Here is the current list of what I have.

Rem. 700 in 30.06
AR-10 .308
Beretta 12 gauge semi.
Springfield 1911 milspec
Vintage 1911 Ithaca slide/Rem. Rand frame.
S&W 5906 9mm

I am thinking of either a tactical shotgun or a AR of some type. I also like odd stuff like Mini-14(grew up on the A-Team) not or something in 45-70 for a woods hunting rifle.

Give your thoughts.

Based on what you already own I would say get a AR.

Palmetto State Armory has some good deals right now. I have their PSA M-4 and love it for a $700 gun.
They have some good deals on furniture to dress it up also.

I also think the Sig SPX or a PTR 91 would be cool. An AR is the most economical choice as I will not spend much to trick it out.

OR if interested in a Mini

Go with the Mini 30. It will shoot the cheap AK stuff

Find an old Winchester 1894 in 30-30 or any other caliber.

Look for per 1964 builds if you can.

What is your objective? Home defense, punching holes in paper, hunting?

You need a heavy!

So I think something along the lines of a 375..No matter if it's an H&H, Ruger or Weatherby, you can dispatch anything that walks!

If you are looking for a home defense gun, these are pretty neat.

If those are the guns you have listed, you really should get a .22 also.

Every red blooded American should own at least one .22 of some sort.

I have a Marlin 1897 in 45-70 and its a fun gun especially at the range with new shooters Down side is ammo is about $2 a pop.

You can never go wrong with an AR, I have a few of them in different configurations. One full size for long range, a carbine for fun and another one just to have a third to sell if the market spikes or if they become banned.

Other guns to considr:
- if you have the distance a long range percsion rifle like a Remington LRT is fun to have.
- You don't have a .22 listed, everyone should have one
- Something for CCW if you ever get your permit
- Polymer pistol such as a Glock or M&P

Also you may want to consider spending the money on gun related things.
-Nice glass is always good. My long range rifle has a $1,200 Carl Zeiss on it. Its a pleasure to use.
-You have an AR-10 reloading equipment for .308 will cost you about $600 for decent stuff
-Never a bad idea to stock up on ammo
