Default iphone 7 cases for boating???

I've been a lifeproof nuud guy, I can't deal with a screen cover though. I know the iphone 7 is supposedly water resistant, but I'm not sure I trust that, especially with salt water. I am looking at the dog and bone wetsuit case. It is the only one I've seen without a screen cover. Anyone have one? Thoughts? Can't find much online, lifeproof nuud for the 7 release date is TBA.

I believe that otterbox makes several waterproof cases. They are too bulky for me, though...but I have a waterproof ammo box that I keep my phone, wallet, and some other things in while onboard and in transport. If nice day I will take the phone out so that I can see/hear it...otherwise it stays secured.

Last I looked there were some options for iphone but not android

Whatever you get, I'd test it by putting a tissue inside and submerging in a sink or bathtub. Many cases claim they are waterproof and leak.

I ended up getting some generic pouches made by Drypak but do not purposely submerge. I accidentally did once and phone was dry.

LifeProof Nuud for the 7 will be out soon.

That said, I've been using the Fre with my iPhones for years with no trouble at all with their functionality

What is soon? I emailed them and they said that engineers were still working on it. Is that the same BS line they give to everyone or do you have some inside intel?

Looking at this one.

Thoughts?

They are out now, a little sooner than anticipated...

What do you mean screen cover on the LifeProof Nuud? There is no screen cover you have to be talking about the other model.

Go back to the LifeProof Nuud. I sank on a boat and my iPhone 6 was still in my pocket and could have saved my life if we weren't seen going down.

The 7 case has only been out for a week and the reviews are kind of poor considering the past history.

3 different phones and 3 different LifeProof cases.
iPhone 5 case replaced once under warranty, N/C
iPhone 6 case replaced twice under warranty, once N/C and once $5 shipping only.

I picked up my iPhone 7 in September and got a Tech 21 case from the Verizon store. Has some drop protection.
A bit disappointed on what I have heard so far on the 7 cases.

If you want an android phone get the CAT S60. I'm waiting to see when their next model is coming out. Amazingly useful phone you could drive over. I took one for a spin and used the IR camera a lot

For me, when boating, a tether is much better than a waterproof case. If the phone goes into the drink, a case is usually accompanying it to the bottom. Same with tethers for glasses/sunglasses.

Ask me how I know!

Always used Life Proof and have never had a problem. My only complaint is the phone is a little harder to get out of your pocket.

Speaking of water, what ever became of Liquipel? This was a treatment for your phone where after treatment, you could submerge it without any problem. It was the hot thing a year or two ago.
