I have never had to use them for shipping because they are both down the street but a few suggestions are Harbor Fish (http://www.harborfish.com/) or Free Range (http://www.freerangefish.com/). Harbor Fish Supplies many of the restaurants in the Greater Portland area. Both markets are legit and have been around for some time, right on the Portland waterfront and close to the airport and shipping facilities.

yikes, the lobster is a great price, $29 for a 2# but $85 shipping makes it a tad on the expensive side.

I used Legal Seafood out of Boston for my sister's surprise birthday present. I joined up just to get a discount but it still was pricey but the quality is very good, she loved it. I get their emails with discounts and such but have not ordered anything since then.

Just an FYI. I've kept lobsters alive for 3 days inside a cool damp paper bag in the fridge. They store water in their shells but that eventually leaks out so careful with getting that all over the fridge floor

Brings back memories- my Dad used to ship live lobsters to the frat house after our quarterly "Black Friday" exams. I still remember pulling out the cold, wet seaweed they were packaged with. My old man sure was a popular guy when he would visit....

I usually pack my coolers with lobster every time I go to Maine and I bring them back to friends and family along the way South to FL... I let everyone know when I am headed up so I can start taking orders... I am going up on around the 15th of December, I am not sure when you are looing to get them but if you want me to bring some extra back to FL with me let me know, it will be cheaper than the $85 shipping charge and they will arrive alive...

My grandparents used to go to Maine to visit family every summer. They would bring back a couple big boxes of lobster and we would have a big dinner

Smitty,
I was only thinking of 4 - 2lbs is that enough for what your doing? Not in a hurry just wanted to have some next month. Do I pick them up or how does that work when you get back to FL.
Thanks, Skip

I will be running right down I-95 and picking up I-4 on my way home so if you are able to meet me somewhere along my way back home you can get them from me (preferably a large lot like a truck stop since I will have a 46ft trailer with me)... I was going to be picking a bunch up anyways since I will be picking up a seasonal customers boat... I usually get them right off of a lobster boat in Harpswell ME. I am not sure what his process are right now but I know they are about half the price you pay anywhere in a store...

These are pics from last year when I picked some up... You can see the pic of the lobster boat that I buy them from (better than Restaurant Depot I am sure lol).... Then I have one of the big ones in my hand, he was about 2.5lbs.... I steamed a bunch of them... The others I made baked seafood stuffed lobster... I made lobster rolls with the leftover steamed lobster....

It doesn't really get any fresher than this!!!
