Default Gatlinburg on fire

Seeing reports about Gatlinburg on fire and the surrounding park areas, my family has a place up there and spend our New Year's Eve and week there normally. Thoughts to anyone up that way looks like it's gonna get worse before it gets better.

I was there last year the week between Christmas and New Years. Very nice area. It was my 2nd trip as I previously stayed there in 2009. Hope there are no injuries and they can get the fires out.

Have a few friends in the area, will be interesting to see the reports that come out now that the sun is coming up. Going to be some major damage I believe and a lot of really expensive homes and businesses to rebuild.

I own a campground just outside Gatlinburg.

Managers evacuated last night, waiting this morning to see what kind of damage.

I just got some pics of the park, overall lucky so far. Some structures destroyed by wind and tree's but no fire yet.

Thanks.

Pics I am getting from my Managers at my park look like there was a good bit of rain, so hopefully slows it all down.

Yea, I heard they got a little under an inch of rain last night and hopefully some more today. Maybe windy there again today. Some areas are really bad. Hope your park fares well.
