Default Christmas Grab-bag

Adult family gift giving has gotten stale to the point where most aren't interested. So I was thinking about doing a grab bag, more for fun and entertainment than the gifts. I have not done one or participated in one, so THT.....

What variations on grab bag have you all done / seen, and did it work well?

Any different ideas beyond all the gifts go under the tree and everyone picks one?

Thanks

We do family bingo on Christmas Eve, everybody buys a gift of $20 value. When you get bingo you choose a gift from the table, or you can steal a gift from someone else and they have to pick from the table. It's fun and can get competitive for some. For me personally I could care less if I receive a gift on Christmas, I get what I need throughout the year and am really hard to buy for, or so I'm told. I would rather see the surprise look on people's faces this time of year.

We do the exact same thing. Much better all around.
