Default Windows Vista - UPDATE: Finally Crashed. Where are the deals this weekend?

Mine is still running okay and wonder how many others are hanging on to it.

Since it's Xmas I was looking into a new tower for home and looks like everything is coming with Windows 10. I have Windows 8 on a nice Dell laptop and as most people know that leap is just a horrible change, so hence it sits in it's bag with a dead battery.

We run Windows 7 at work (a large company) and wonder how many more years that will be around.

The last 15+ years I have owned the cheaper Emachines that Best Buy sells and been happy with the results.

.....just looked and looks like you can buy new machines with Windows 7. Anyone else stayed and 7 and not made the leap?

I'm still using windows 7.

I'd still have my analog Nokia phone if the service was available.

I have 2 laptops with vista that I never use and only have them because the Yamaha diagnostic software and a few other stupid things works only on windows. Have a desktop with windows 10 upgrade which Ive hated since the day I got it and rarely use. My workhorse is a 2011 Macbook pro which has been flawless. I use it all day, everyday. No more PC's for me ...ever.

I have Vista on my home PC and absolutely NO issues. I also have Windows 7 on a laptop that I use daily, as well, again NO issues. I've seen Windows 8 and it wants to make me throw up.

Windows Vista is no longer supported by Microsoft, which means you aren't getting important security patches any longer.

Roll the dice if you like, but there are people out there just looking for folks like you...

Windows 7 on all my computers- maybe about 7 of them.

I'll go to 10, when necessary.

The only updates that the vista system still gets is Microsoft security essentials.

Windows 10 doesn't have Word, so that is extra unless I'm missing something.

Well two years after I started this thread my Vista unit has finally crashed. This is our go to PC unit at home so now it's time to replace.

I'm not a black Friday crowd shopper but now in the market.

I guess I'll get the latest crappy Windows whatever it is and I do need a home use version of Office. I run 2 monitors at work and doubt I will do that at home, but probably bigger, running 22" now.

Again just general home office use.....any advice on deals this weekend?

Thanks
