Default Grocery cart pullers

WTH is wrong with people that go to the grocery store and pull the cart around? Yes this is frequently seen at discount chains..such as Walmart...and Winn Dixie, guess i should stay out of these places. They take up the whole isle is the gripe.

their Mommy never taught them any better,
or they told Momma to go stick it when she tried to teach them and Daddy never told them not do do that to their mommy

We don't see many cart pullers up here, but we see a lot of people who cross their arms, hunch over the cart handle and walk around pushing the cart with their elbows. The people seem able-bodied, so I don't get this hunched-over posture.

What am I missing? I've been known to pull a cart a time or two. How does this mess with others?

I always push the cart but I don't get it as well. How are they in the way?

I am at a loss to understand how pulling a cart takes up significantly more room than pushing a cart. Please explain.

Now if the cart was made fast on the hip....well then that's another story.

I have a long stride and accidentally kick the under carriage of the cart.
Pretty annoying, so I walk along side of the cart. But than , I don't shop with a cart much.

I pull my cart, no shame. I'm short and it's the only way I can put things into the cart without just tossing them in and crushing my bread.

I leave my cart at the top of each idle and walk down then grabbing what I want.

because most pullers walk along the side thus eliminating the cart catching on their heels. This takes up significantly more room especially if they are uhm..."large" people.

I'm a pusher. With bad back, I actually use mine as a walker. even if I just need an item or two....no basket for me, cart baby!
