No, not me. But nurse Ratchet is at the nut house. I hate being alone on holidays, but that's the way it goes with nursing. I saw where 25% of people are working today. Might have to get out and grab a beer. How about any others out there?

Have you considered the fact that you would then be contributing to an environment where another persons employer forced another individual to work........

If you are disappointed about working on a holiday just think, you could be jammed in a small place with all your in-laws for days.

Back in the day when I was hospital based you had to work 1 major and 2 minor holidays each year. Since I went private I really don't work any holidays at all now since I only work 3 days a week.

I did the same, and then....when my kids were off on their own, I offered (and worked) many holidays so the younger guys with families could have off .

Not today, but I have worked more than my fair share of holidays, nights, weekends, etc. It sucks and the spouses and relatives never fully understand. I do work tomorrow and I know when I get there the entire hospital parking lot will be empty but the OR's will be going full bore without an administrator to be found. Maybe that's a blessing in its own right.

Happy Thanksgiving THT!

I'm not, but for the first time in the 17+yrs I've been employed here, they've decided we needed 2 people working on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Talked to one of the guys this morning - said there is absolutely nothing to do. I'll be working tomorrow.

Well I never say anything about what she wants to do and she does the same with me. She actually chose to work so she could be with me tomorrow on my Birthday. Bonus points for that.
