Default The Worst Drought in Texas History.

This took a couple years to make.

Sometimes it's hard to think of reasons to be thankful. If I ever get to whining about things I can look back on this video.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Enjoyed your video, what part of Texas is that? I have land in Dime Box and LaGrange, and the drought was rough on us too.

We had started an orchard of pecan trees. Danged locusts ate the trees down to the base.

We're in our 5th year out here. Most of the reservoirs/lakes are at 20/40%. A lot of the Avocado and Citrus growers bulldozed their orchards, couldn't water them and the trees were dying. Hoping for a wet winter.

My ex-in laws lived in Tahitian Village subdivision in Bastrop right on the Colorado river, well one of the fairways was between their house an the river. Don't know if their place was impacted or not. Beautiful country and Elgin sausage was always good

Yessir, we will eat turkey just outside of Bastrop tomorrow. BIL's place survived the fires but his business burned.

I fished Lake Fayette back in the day. We had a great time in Bastrop but the wife had to drive home, too much turkey, Cowboys and beer for me.

Have some land a few miles west of Winchester, North of LaGrange. close to the Bastrop/Fayette county line
Flooding in 2015 and 2016 ,May and June both years caused us a lot of fence repair/ clean up of debris along the Creek bottom area.
Pavement was washed off the roads in sheets in some places around the area.

strange how it goes from one extreme to the other

But the drought right before was as bad as the 50s or maybe worse.
lots of Ceder and oak trees died
