Default Rum Connoiseur`s

I`m looking to get a different rum I`ve never had before that is a good sipping rum. Something that is good after dinner with nothing more than an ice cube or two.
I do enjoy sipping Pyrat or Pilar after dinner so those are off the table.
So, whadda got?

love the ron zacapa 23!

el dorado 12-yr and 15-yr are both really nice and not super expensive. i tried the el dorado 25 and wasnt impressed for the price...but everyone's pallet is different. i have not tried the el dorado 21.

have also enjoyed the appleton estate 12

This is a Rum that I like to sip. Around $25 at Total Wine.

Guatemala- Aged in a variety of barrels from 5-14 years. A copper hue with aromas dominated by oak with a hint of vanilla. Rich and full bodied on the palate with maple syrup, toffee, candied tree fruit and background notes of coffee and clove. Well balanced between oak and vanilla.

Plantation rum is excellent, especially their 199 or 2000 Barbados label rum.

Plantation is very good, as is Zacapa 23 and Diplimatico.
Zacapa 23 beat XO in our annual blind rum tasting at the neighbors house.
I need to try that Botran...

Mount Gay. Not a rum snob, but it's quite tasty.

It's whatever you like, but try the others and you'll find some you like MORE than MG.

RZ is the result of deceptive marketing to get people to buy expensive rum, they add sugar and artificial coloring...it's brown sugar syrup, can't stand that stuff.
