Default Application question

I had to get fingerprinted for a permit, and under "gender" there were 3 choices: male / female / both. WTF???

What kind of application was this? Given your location, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume it wasn't for a CWP.

It was the fingerprint form from Identogo for a firearm permit.

You have to do this just to purchase any firearm?

If so that makes me very thankful for SC's gun laws. Fill out the 4473, they call it in, and out the door you go. If you have a CWP here, the FBI instant check is waived as well.

In NJ it takes approval of a state Supreme Court Judge to get a Concealed carry permit, they are only good for two years. The total number or CC permits ~1,000(?) for a population of 9 million.

In NJ, you need to do this for a permit to BUY a pistol. You can apply for three permits at a time and they expire after three months. The result, many people who really only want one pistol, apply for three permits. The process is such a pain, many end up buying three guns. The permit is for an individual, so with a married couple, each have to apply separately.

You also have to do the FID card first, which allows you to buy long guns without another permit.

Some other idiotic rules in NJ, you can buy a semi-auto shotgun but it can't have a pistol grip or adjustable stock. So if a husband and wife need different stock lengths they buy two guns instead of one. Yet, AR's can have a pistol grip.

Great gun control laws, if it was easier you might have a household with only 2 guns instead you most likely have a household with 6-8.

Yeah, they want fingerprints along with other things done.

Questions like that make me wonder:

"What is point of asking your gender on a firearm permit application? What does the gov't think you're going to do with that gun?"

Same here in nc, easy peasy and we may not even have the "both," option on ours.

Now I understand why we are being invaded by northern transplants. That's straight up insanity.

I can't imagine a household with only 6-8 guns though. In my family we count gun safes, not guns.

On your next application, check all three to be on the safe side.

So are adjustable comb & pad plates such as Graco's used on competition trap/skeet guns included in the ban on adjustable stocks? If so, the legislators that schemed up that law need to be took out back and whipped.

not banned.

technically adjustable stocks aren't banned, you just can't have more than one evil feature. So an AR has a pistol grip as the evil feature. For a semi auto without a pistol grip, you can have an adjustable stock.

bayonet mounts are evil too. That one is very dumb. Was there a mass bayonet killing that prompted that one??
