Sipped Jefferson's Oceans this weekend, and I'm headed to survey a new craft and I have to take a flask with me so I can wish her good luck on her exam.

Keith, the only beaver I want to think about is Smokey and the Bandit or 80's porn, NEVER in my bourbon. WOW!

Loved the Jefferson's Ocean but a bit steep on the price at around $90.
Just finished up Jim Beam Black extra aged for my boat bottle and thought it was ok, not quite to the hype I read.
Last budget bottle was Wellers Antique 107 which I thought was excellent.
Next budget bottle this weekend is going to be Four Roses at $20. Already tried the Four Roses Single Barrel at $40, and the next Four Roses small batch at $35, and thought they were both very good. Hoping for a threepete.

I blame all of you for my recent purchases, including these......

As bad as the recent warehouse collapse was, it doesn't compare to the November 7, 1996 fire at Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Several warehouses caught fire and the distillery itself was destroyed along with 2% of the worlds bourbon. Link to a story and videos below.

That explains why the entire shelf of 1792 was sold out within a week at the local B & B. I wonder if they pulled it to sit on it or if someone came in a bought it up.

The OGD 114 is a good value but I'm not crazy about the flavor profile. Just has an odd tasting finish to me that I can't seem to place. Makes a good Manhattan though and takes less to knock me on my ass.

The Henry McKenna 10yo BIB seems like a good value. Just picked up two bottles that were barreled in '05 on my birthday. I can sip that on one cube all night long.

I always return to Buffalo Trace. Neat, one cube, rocks or Manhattan. It seems to do nicely for just about every occasion (other than those that call for Blantons).

I'm between Baltimore and DC for a couple of days off training. Picked up a few bottles that we don't see in NC. Can anyone point me towards some Blanton's? Nearest Total Wine didn't have any. Thanks!

Miss Trial 06-27-2018 05:39 AM

I have an acquaintance who wants to sell a whole bunch of Blanton's for more than twice retail ($200 a bottle).

Would you pay that? I can't find it anywhere else and he has like 15 bottles.

No way I'd pay that for it. It can be found, and that's about 3 or 4x retail.

no way!
but then again, my Winn Dixie and Walgreens and Publix seem to have it quite regularly for about 60$.
200 bucks is crazy.
