Default The possum in the opossum was it's demise

You know how an opossum plays possum, well that didn't work out well for one little guy yesterday.....nor me for that matter.

Yesterday I put the four blade cutter head on my Bannerman weed trimmer and I was knocking down the tall growth 2-3 ft high in and around the pines and cedars. Well I didn't see him and he didn't move and I had to clean up. 25 cc at wot didn't much bark at the resistance.....to bad. But the unfortunate up side is, at least he isn't digging up my backyard.

Used to find them laying in the back yard. We learned to just walk away and check back later. If they were still there the dog had killed them. If they were gone then they were just playing possum.

I found one in the chicken coop that played dead. I felt bad taking him out as there was no "sport" in it, just an execution.

Then feed it to it's brothers and sisters.
If you hit one with a train the next train will kill the whole family as they eat the remains of the first one.

I shot one years ago with a pellet gun and I would have bet it was dead. I kicked it, stepped on it, poked it with a stick, poked it's eyes with the barrel of my pellet gun. I actually picked it up and swung it over my head 4-5 times and let if fly. It landed on the concrete and never moved, I got bored screwing with it so I went to do something else and when I came back about 20 minutes later the bastard was gone!?!?! I would have never believed the thing was still alive after all of that abuse.

At 10 you should know better. That's how the dude in the serial killer thread started out, terrorizing animals. Sicko.

What did Jeffery Dahmer say to Lorena Bobbitt?

"You gonna eat that?"

Oh yeah....I'm 55 now and I'm a secret serial killer. OMG I was 10 years old and I shot at the opossum because it was in my garage. I didn't set out trying to torture the rat, I hurt it and was afraid of it so I didn't want it to come after me so I tried to kill it. I'm not even a hunter so I don't kill anything except fish....I can't believe I am even justifying something that happened 45 years ago to a freakin oversized rat.

Funny trick, spray an opossum playing possum with a waterhose and he will immediately wake up and usually run away AFAP.
This discovery lead to my German shepherds' favorite form of playing catch. Old Higgins usedto catch and bring us all kinds of critters still alive and relatively unharmed. Reminds me of a time when he jumped out the window of myF-150 (after a rabbit) while cruising around 30mpg say ~2 miles away from thehouse. I looked for Higgins for over an hour before heading back to check if hehad gone home. Low and behold, there he was holding the rabbit. I gave commandsto sit and let go, then, we watched the rabbit work cramps out and hop off intothe bushes. Higgins was content watching the rabbit make his getaway and didnot so much as look at me for permission to pursue.
Sorry for going of on tangent. I guess I just miss the old dog.

Good Golly I must be a sicko too. I knock off a possum every few months or so at my place. I have a special aluminum bat for the task.

Sorry Tex, but you are sick.........

I don't think Russ is sick. I think maybe the pellet gun didn't go off so he looked down the barrel to see if the pellet was still there and it went off and hit the opossum by mistake.
