Default My Boating Days are Coming an End... prayers needed

This summer, I achieved the dream of purchasing a home on the water just off the Bay with access to the Gulf of Mexico.

However, last month I was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's) for which there is no cure. My symptoms are worsening to the point I can no longer drive the boat (above idle speed).

I am fortunate to have enjoyed 35 years of boating and 2 years of reading THT. I am also blessed to have a loving wife, supportive family and faith in whatever plan God has for me. Please keep us in your prayers...

Hey Blue, my prayers are with you. You'll have ups and downs but lean on your family as you would want them to lean on you. Come back here often and enjoy the chit chat.

Not sure where you live exactly but if you're near me in St Pete/Tampa area, I'm happy to help should a need arise. So sorry to hear. Definitely praying.

Man, sorry to hear. My prayers are with you and your family. I'm guessing your boating days are not over since you posted on here. I already see one invite. If I lived near you, you'd get an invite as well. Stay strong brother. Chris

Having known several people with ALS I know how difficult this can be. Take some solace in the knowledge that as silly as the ice bucket challenge was there may be some good coming from the research that it is funding. Best of luck to you and your family.
