Default I had to have them PERIOD!

After having my single and small barrel drinks melting down with regular size ice cubes I wanted to go BIG and I did. I ordered 2 trays that make 8 2.25 x 2.25 x- 2.25 cubes. Took a little while for them to freeze all the way through but when the liquor hit the cube the ice turned clear. They almost did not fit into the glass and left little room for the liquor. Looks like one cube is good for 2 and maybe 3 drinks. LIKE IT!!!!
PRATICUBE - 2 PACK (Pratice Kitchen trays on Amazon).
The trays are made of a flexible FDA approved food grade silicone. They were about $10.00.

The website is www.praticocogoods.com.

Just finished about 2 oz of CR and the cube has not melted over 5 to 10%. Might might have to try another drink to see what happens to the ice.

Did you ever try putting the bottle in the freezer? That works well too! (I take it you mean Crown Royal when you say CR)

Eastport, yes on the Crown Royal. I have a couple other bottles in the freezer. Mainly single barrel or small batch bourbons. The only way that I drink CR now is now on the rocks. If I going to mix brown liquor I usually will be drinking Jack Black,

Tovolo sphere, set of two from Targer $11, makes a big round ball that fits in an Old Fashioned glass. I may try your cube just to compare.

Not to derail to a Yeti thread you may want to consider the Yeti low ball or 20 oz cups as well, zero ice melt.

The 20 oz come in the Walmart knock-off's as well.

She'll understand, well maybe she won't but she'll get over it, possibly sometime, usually in three days

I got a couple of sets of "Balls of Steel" for cooling drinks without watering them down. But only use them for good scotch for bourbon/whiskey I don't have an issue with a little melting of the ice.

I have an issue when people try to chill or water down my good scotch!!!! If it is worth drinking I drink it neat unless it is a hot cask scotch then maybe a table spoon or water. I have always found that fine liquor taste better at room temperature which seems to allow all of the nuances and character to come through on the palate. Hard to beat a 12 year old sherry cask Macallan for the money!

Pretty much all I drink for Scotch is JW Blue Label and I like it slightly chilled but not cold.
