Default The rest of the story

Paul Harvey has been dead quite a few years but I can always remember the conversation stopping when riding with my dad so we could hear "the rest of the story". Not sure what made me think about him but those were good times.

He was a man from a time when news casters had integrity...It is sad to see what the news has morphed into...

One of my uncles got pissed because PH pimped Massey Ferguson tractors and the one they bought was junk.

I was addicted, all noise stopped in the shop when Paul Harvey came on...
He visited our little town one day and got on the radio the next day suggesting that the entire town turned out to meet him at the airport... funny thing is I don't know anybody that was there.

I listened to Paul Harvey in the '50's with my grandmother, and never stopped. Always interesting. "The rest of the story" was great. Never did buy Cornhuskers lotion, though.

He was definitely a radio personality, though. Short and concise. The talking heads on tv have to drone on and project body language, then break for a dam commercial. The closest tv newscaster we have had (will have) to Paul Harvey was Walter Cronkite. Today, they're homogenized and blatantly politically oriented.

Started listening to Paul Harvey with my dad in the 60s. Never stop listening until he went off the air. He had a voice that got your attention and a way of projecting the news that really drew you in. He also had more integrity than any dozen newscasters today! We miss you Paul Harvey!

RIP Mr. Paul Harvey and your lovely wife Angel!
