Default Turks & Caicos

I'm thinking about taking the girlfriend to the Turks & Caicos. I am looking for a smaller resort with villas as opposed to rooms but would still like an all inclusive place. We don't plan on doing much except hanging out on the beach, maybe go fishing one day but the primary purpose is relaxing.

Any ideas from THT Brain trust?

Thanks!

Bring back as much Bambarra Reserve rum as you can carry.

Gringo and LaGringa. Great folks who I met in person down there for the first time last year. They took me to lunch and gave me the nickel tour of the island and their home. I'm not sure they're spending a whole lot of time in the TCI's right now, but I'm sure they could point you in the right direction.

I know another guy who lives down there too, so I'll keep an eye on this thread and ask him for recommendations. He's a local.

TCI does not really have many all-inclusive resorts. If you are dead set on all-inclusive I would go somewhere else.

I stayed at Royal West Indies Resort about 9 years ago. It was clean and on quiet end of the beach. It looks like it still gets good reviews. We rented car and visited several resorts for lunch and dinner. Ate breakfast in our room. Nice and relaxing vacation.

Not a fan of all inclusive but really enjoyed our last trip to T&C.From memory we stayed at The Sands on Grace Bay. Ditto on renting a car it makes life so much easier.

It went west of TCI. No damage.

Forgive my naivete as I haven't been to an all-inclusive. What money do you need if it's all-inclusive? Or are you saying the bill to stay there is lots of $$$$$$$$$?

The wife and I stayed here about 8 years ago and it was great - http://bhresort.com/accommodation/

A quick boat ride from the main island over to middle Caicos. We had the cab driver stop at a local grocer on the way to the resort where we stocked up on some local rum, food etc. to cook for the week. Back then, the resort didn't have a bar or restaurant, but the website now has some nice pics of one.

It's a very quiet and private hide out for couples and is highly recommended. Good luck.

It's the total bill to stay there. Yes, it is beautiful, but it's high priced. we'have looked at several options there as well, and have resigned ourselves that it will take $$$$ for the vacation. Have you considered the Bitter End Yacht Club in Virgin Gorda??

I suggest looking at TripAdvisor.com when you have questions about world travel.

We've been to Turks & Caicos on a cruise, and found it to be flat and quiet. It's essentially out at the eastern end of the Bahamas.

For those looking for a quiet week, it'd be fine. I'd be looking to stay in one of the luxury all inclusives if I returned. For price, many will choose the Dominican Republic's cheaper all inclusives which are probably more international than C&A.

Just stay anywhere on Grace Bay Beach. One of the best beaches in the world, I've been 4X in the past 2 years. We stay at The Grace Bay Club where the service is phenomenal but its $$$$$
