Default Delaware to Florida tomorrow?

I am leaving tomorrow and driving down to Florida. I know that there are still closures on 95 in North Carolina. Google maps is still telling me to take 95 but it shows getting off and back on in several areas.

1st is going through fayetteville and back down 87 to get get back on 95
2nd is getting off at exit 33 to 301 then back on 95 at exit 22
3rd exit 20 to 19 using a side rd
4th is at exit 17 to rd 2499 then back on 95 at exit 13

Does this seem like the way to go? or is there a better route i should use?

Not really a better direct route. I'd probably just follow the directions and pay attention to where you need to detour unless you want to take 85 to Atlanta and that's way out of the way.

Getting through Carolina pass the 77 mile marker is going to be following the leader.
Its not a long stretch where the road is closed the issue is going to be following ALL THAT TRAFFIC...

At the 106 MM on 95 in Kenly is Truck Stop Road. There are 4 major truck stops there. Good place to stop, fuel up and BRB before hitting the nightmare.

I'm hoping the traffic and nightmare won't be so bad since I'll be hitting that area about 9pm

Use the App "The Waze".

It will get you there the fastest, notify you of cops, etc etc...

If you do just be mindful it sends you on some weird routes occasionally. Like I've had it tell me to take an exit and get right back on to save a minute.

I think google maps now uses waze data for crashes and such as well without the super aggressive routing.

I would follow the crowd rather has use computer based recommendations for a detour. Less stressful. There will probably be a long line though, even at 9pm.

It's a mess. You may want to just hop on to 87 south or Richmond and go the Atlanta route. Google says its about two hours longer but at least you will be moving.

I was stuck in fayettville for 2 hours, I have avoided if 95 is still down, but on sunday only one lane south bound was under water. Might be ok by now.

Thanks for the help guys. Made it though with out a problem. Had the detour at exit 56 and just followed the well placed signs.

Also made sure to stop in Kenly for fuel before hitting the detour. That is a really nice and clean place to stop.

Thanks for the update. Friends are heading down in a couple weeks and they will be glad to know no major issues.

Edit: exit 56 where? SC?

It was exit 56 in NC. From exit 56 to pretty much exit 13 was all back an side roads to 95. We tried waz app but even that had some discrepancy. Lots of trees down still along 95. Most are on the shoulder some even hang over the white line a bit.
