Default What a machine! Mustang GT 350 - HENNESSEY TUNED

Hennessey is pulling out 800hp from the new GT 350 (this thing is hardly stock) but still, listen to that exhaust note!

Call me crazy, but whenever I see these sports cars going all out on these Dyno machines it makes me so nervous to watch. I guess I have seen to many " Dyno test gone wrong" videos on youtube! :p

Great performance, but you know the styling is terrible when even a Hennessey updated vehicle looks like a lightly modified Camry. blah.

5.2 liter Voodoo engine. It is a unique engine for the US manufacturers. It uses a flat-plane crank that contributes to the different sounding exhaust.

The ZL1 is a beast.

Honestly...its not so impressive for what needs to be done to achieve that hp. A supercharger, FULL motor rebuild, and supporting mods. I can make a 4cyl honda make 800 with the sleeved engine, complete engine rebuild, and supporting mods.

See problem is...... high compression engines are designed to be naturally aspirated and not to be force inducted(super charger, turbo, etc.). So once you go throwing a force inductor on that engine, you have to break it down and put lower compression pistons in it and supporting mods like H beam rods etc. You take the old gt500 that was designed and had the right pistons and rods in to from the get go, all you needed was a kenne bell or whipple charger upgrade which was only a couple/few grand, and you were in business with a tune and you had close to 800hp. You talking 6k vs 30-40k for a rebuild, sc, supporting mods, install, tune, and so forth.

None the less.....800hp is 800hp but I'd much rather spend 6k for 800hp vs $40,000 (extra/just for mods) for 800hp. Just my opinion. Oh and I had a 2003 mustang cobra that was laying down 500hp to the wheels, with just a couple small mods and the factory supercharger.

Every time I see a new Mustang, first I think "cool car"

Then my experienced mind reminds me: "It's a damned Ford". Never, ever again.
