Default Any iPhone Experts?

iPhone 6S
Just upgraded to IOS10

When I transfer pics from my phone to my MacBook Pro I attached it via USB, use Preview, File, Import from iPhone. Easy.

Since the upgrade to IOS10, I get an error message that say the phone is locked. It is not. I have rebooted, tried via iPhoto, same result "unlock phone".

I googled the problem and people are complaing and have for a few years so I don tthink it is just IOS10. There are many "solutions" but have not seen anything that worked for me.

Anyone run into this ?

Just to be clear, you have the phone unlocked showing the home screen when you're trying to sync the photos?

This new IOs10 upgraded sucks. I wish that there was a way to not be bothered with a "remind me later" diaglog every time you open your phone.

Not an expert but I have an iphone 6S with IOs 10.0.1 and it back-ups both pictures and music fine to/from my computer. There is a new version 10.0.2 that's available.

Same here, the upgrade has worked fine but really don't see much improvement.

Yes, phone is unlocked and home screen displayed. Error message says it is locked.

It worked fine pre 10.0.02 install.......

I am on version 10.0.02

Here's how I get my photos:

go to start menu, select Computer, my iphone is there under Additional Drives, double click Iphone, Internal Storage, DCIM, and select the photos.

I hate upgrades - sometimes they just move icons around

My work phone is a 5s and they forced us to upgrade to IOS due to security reasons.

My iphone is all but useless since the update. I think its too old, it freezes, and the touch screen stops working regularly. I have to hard reset it 5-10x a day.

Hmm. I tried it on mine. Phone was locked, and got the message. When I unlocked it, my photos showed up.

Have you tried with Image Capture as well.

I guess you missed the part where he was using a Macbook. Doesn't work like that on a Mac. Plus, on my work Windows Machine, I'm not seeing it as a drive anymore after iOS 10 upgrade.

I don't think it's too old. I've got a 5 and 5S both running 10.0.2. No issues like you were seeing.

However, I did just fix a problem that had been plaguing my 5 for a while. ITunes would tell me it had plenty of free space, but iOS would show the available storage as being way low. Lately there would be just enough to take a picture, then it was full again.

I nuked it. Made a backup of the phone through iTunes, then deleted all data (Factory reset). Settings --> General --> Reset --> Erase All Content and Settings. Then restored the iPhone from the backup. Once all the apps returned, I checked the available storage again. Now it's showing 10G available, which makes much more sense.

I know problems are different, but you might try that if you are having to do a hard reset so often.

Yes, I tried image capture as well and am getting the same message. This is baffling....

Not to derail but why aren't you using Google photos to transfer your pics? I don't know how I lived without it.

Let iCloud do the sync for you as a workaround.

I do the airdrop feature with blue tooth. Its immediate, and very cool. I am not sure how many at one time you can do but it works great putting pics from I-phone to Mac. I do it every day.

UPDATE - PROBLEM FIXED:

I kept doing Google searches and found a few posts where people did a reset on "Location & Privacy". It was apparently a "trust" issue between my iphone and macbook. After I did the reset the phone did not display as locked when I connected it via USB after I told it to allow access on the pop up window.

So it was "General", "Reset", "Reset Location & Privacy" and that fixed it.

Thx for all the responses.
