Default Thanks Mathew, My Power is Out

Mathew took out my power yesterday. I woke up this morning to no cell service and no phone service. Drove out looking for ice, food and gas. Managed to find all of the above. Even managed to fix the small generator that allows me some tv and this computer and internet access. I hope others are getting by alright. I can't believe the amount of lines that got taken out by fallen trees. Be safe.

Did you use your boat generator? If not, I bet this gets moved soon.

Nope, but I did cover my new boat before the storm. My old boat didn't have a cover and now it needs a major cleaning from the storm. Thank you Mathew. In fact it's so dirty I don't even want to look at it.

Just shut off my gennie. 36hrs on line. Line crews were pretty sharp, no complaints, a good bit of damage to fix. They got it done. My old Kubota shined too.

All back to normal now.

I live in a small town. When I reported the outage yesterday, they told me that it affected 1136 people. Means the lines to my house supplies only 1136 people. I imagine they are busy working on lines that supply way more people than that. I have a 800 watt generator going for now. I'll be ordering a bigger generator so I'll be prepared better, if this happens again.

I'm at the end of the line too. When they fixed the lines, it only powered up like 50 homes. So not too different from you. Good luck!!

I live 100 miles from the coast and lost power for 32 hours.........long enough to ruin everything in my fridge and most of the stuff in my freezer. Thank goodness my 40 lbs of shrimp was in my sister's freezer.

Lost power 7:30 Saturday when the winds really fired off for us. Saying it will be maybe Sunday before power is reinstated. Other than that we didn't suffer any property damage or flooding.

I've been w/o power since Sat and they are saying it will be days before we get it restored. I'm in West Ashley area of Charleston. My old gennie made a weird sound and then crapped out. Found one at a reasonable price at a little lawnmower shop down the street.

At ny house the lines are buried. Even in the bad ice storm our power was not out for more than 3 days. My street wasn't flooded. No downed trees at my house. I am surrounded by trees. However the city next to us flooded and the place the power company needs to repair is flooded. Unusual situation for us. We prepped by having food, water, and gas for the grill. The extended wait was unexpected, but we are good enough to make it. Just a few cold showers. Doesn't mean I have to like it. I will make it through it with inconvenience. That makes me.lucky as others had it far worse than us and they may have been better prepared than us for a hurricane that was supposed to not hit our area and just go back out to sea. I am 30 miles inpand by the way.

Here in South Florida, the storm was far enough off shore where we didn't have the damages you guys got further north of us. It was just a matter of it shifting west instead of east and we would be in a worse situation. All the best to you guys.

That sucks. I'd rather be without power.
