especially when you do it on your BIL of 52 years of age.....I arrived and the EMT,s were worn out and I took over, 20 minutes went by quick, but my damn ass is worn out.......sad to say BIL didnt make it, I will be spreading his ashes on his hunting grounds........if you dont know CPR please learn, you never know when you will get the call.......The look on the 21 yr old female EMT was relieving for her, she had sweat pouring off, as she had been doing compressions forever......I took control, and told them to "roll" .....he was DOA and and I knew it, but you cant stop.!

Being somewhat out of shape this is strange to me. As a first responder they should know to rotate positions as necessary to prevent fatigue. They should also be able to coach a newb, if necessary, to perform if needed.
Success rate is sometimes dismal. Some things you just can't overcome.

Tough work, 20 years of rescue work and always managed to busy myself with other parts of the scene and have never had to do CPR.... really don't want to do CPR. Been around an awful lot of that stuff and with a little luck I'm done.
Don't go and try to man up and hold it all in, you need some good support to get through a bunch of emotions in a timely manner.

Sorry for your loss... My brother went while watching a sci fi movie with the surround sound cranked he was eating a Dagwood with his feet up in the recliner... Not sure which exit stage left sounds better!
