Default No more cash on 9 bridges and tunnels

9 Tunnels and bridges into various spots of NYC will become cashless.

Are any roadways near you cashless? NJ still has cash lanes on our toll roads.

Catching up to the rest of the world. Congrats! Are they doing high speed lanes too?

On NYC bridges and tunnels? There's no such thing as high speed in and around these things in NYC unless you travel off hours.

They did it on the Tobin Bridge in Boston last year. Did absolutely nothing for traffic. I already have EZ Pass, so no difference whatsoever in my drive.

What will the toll collectors do now?

FL has been cashless for years.

Move to NJ and pump gas. You're not allow to pump your own there, that I have seen.

Just about every non-toll road around here is cashless. They hit your pocket in other ways.

When it used to be 50 cents, some of the toll takers were replaced by a machine with a large plastic funnel into which you would chuck two quarters. One of the toll takers was asked "how does it feel to have your job replaced by a basket"?

Tobin is cashless, but tunnels still have a mix. I also don't like how they zing you both ways now. I realize the total cost is the same, but it means that the next 50 cent increase will actually go up $1.

The Tobin was supposed to be 50 cents, and then stop collecting once the bridge was paid for.

I work for a large EZ Pass , Cashless system Integrator. Some Toll Authorities here in the Northeast give you a small discount for EZP. That Technology works very well ! Toll by Plate and other camera systems have far more glitches.

The toll way north of Tampa is cashless and a real pain in the ass for me. I only go up there a few times a year, not enough to buy a sun pass and the toll by plate deal costs about 5 times more than the toll itself.

Pay $5 bucks for the mini transponder.

Or wait for one of the many times a year they offer it for "free". $10 to get the mini transponder, but they put the $10 in your account. It doesn't expire. Reloading is no fee also.

Avoid all the $2.50 processing fees on the $.58c tolls.

It's just a small sticker with a chip that you apply to your windshield.

Had a couple of those. Decided to get the portable one instead because it can be swapped to rental cars or another car and only $10 as well

Good point!

No reason not to have one or the other if your going to be driving in Florida.

Either one will pay for itself in no time.

Yep and the convenience of not having to stop.

Gtfretwell do you have something for the local bridges? The leeway transponders will work there and vice versa with sun pass here.
