Default Magazine vs Clip- Know the difference.

I'm no expert but ....

Seems like these two are always getting mixed up.

Clips HOLD ammo and can be loaded into a magazine.

Magazines HOLD and FEED (spring assisted) ammo into the firing chamber of a weapon.

Any variations from the gun enthusiast/experts?

.

Other common mistakes by noobs (or others) when talking, "Guns"?
List them here.

It ranks right up there with the confused people that talk about a cars motor, what's the matter with those ignorant people, don't they know it's an engine, unless it's a prius or tesla

Just a little thing called common usage

Makes me think of my Drill Instructor making us sing, "This is my rifle, this is my gun. This one's for fighting, this ones for fun!" while holding a M1903A3 in one outstretched hand and grabbing our crotches with the other.
To be quite honest with you I have called a clip a mag a few times and vice versa. Not too stressed about it either but thanks for the clarification.

Calling a rifle a gun aggravates me, but that comes from it being beat in my head in the Army to call a rifle a rifle. What is it, all rifles are guns but not all guns are rifles?

I appreciate the sentiment, but I have a few more things than that, to worry about.

There are few things I care less about than gun nomenclature.

If I were to still live in New Jersey ,I would care less also

Two friends from Jersey joined my hunting club here in Nc. Came Saturday for the first time.

Shot AR's and pistols ( 1911's) and had a blast.

There are two types of M1 Garand shooters.
Those that have received their M1 thumb and those that are going to.
Which one were you?

To support the OP's point, listen to this.
Skip ahead one minute to get past the Goldline commercial.

The ignorance is breath taking. After that, the lesson on the 2nd Amendment is pretty good.

I'm the smarter one, I worked at a gun club (Philadelphia, Pa.) as a kid and my uncle taught me to shoot the M1 and the 1911's

Never caught my thumb, yet
