Lol heard a quote on "the last ship" tonight as I just started watching it. " I could knock the nipples off a chicken at 1000 yards.

I saw the date line on the article but I could swear I heard this story some time back.

Somewhere in muslim paradise 288 virgins are groaning about their bad luck right now.

FOX doesn't really tell the whole story.

From the original linked story.

“They considered an air strike but that would cause too much collateral damage.

“They looked at a rocket attack but there was the possibility that the blast might cause the building to collapse and intelligence suggested there were civilians being held in the lower storey and in buildings close by.

“A staff sergeant in charge of one of the SAS teams working with the Iraqis came up with the idea of shooting through the wall.

“It was a case of ‘there’s nothing to lose’. If it worked the suicide attacks would be stopped – if it failed nothing would be lost.”

The Daily Star Sunday has learned the SAS sniper positioned himself in another building around 1,000m away from the target but with a direct line of fire.

He was supported by three colleagues who had prepared around six magazines filled with armourpiercing rounds.

The attack occurred just after first light one day last week.

The marksman fired 30 rounds into the building, causing the wall to partially collapse.

Later that day the SAS and Iraqi forces seized the building and found three dead jihadis.

They were surrounded by maps and communications equipment.

A defence source said: “The armour-piercing rounds had a devastating effect.

“The bodies of the Islamic State fighters had been absolutely pulverised.

Incendiary rounds. FMJ rounds don't explode fuel containers, at least not directly. Ask me how I know this.

The sniper is British SAS.

FMJ vs Fuel Pack

ALN, I'll accept your statement but I would have thought the heat from impact and tank rupture would ignite a pressurized cylinder. These aren't thin-skin items like a portable fuel can. Closer to a SCUBA tank. Also, if the ignition is from a 'pilot light' there's an open flame to help ruin someone's day.
