Default Salt Lake City, Utah

Have to go here for work in September. I have never been here
Any must see places, besides religious places? Also any great places to eat? Also I assume I can get a small bottle of rum, and it is not a dry place. Thanks for any comments.

Park City is nice or head up the Canyon to Alta and go for a hike, there should be plenty of people up there.

SLC has a lot of outdoor activities.

Check the rest of that site for ideas also.

one of my favorite cities. lots to do downtown. Drinking rules are "different" but also not that big of a deal- much easier since the Olympics were there a few years ago. good restaurants and beautiful buildings. I've stayed at the Grand America hotel when I stayed in SLC. very clean in that area. There was a neat Speakeasy just up the street but I cant remember the name.

Definitely agree with others- Go to Park City if you have time. beautiful place! great hiking, very good food.
Alta has it's lifts open year round for hiking and activities if you are with family- so does Park City Mountian, (the have their "town lift" open.

Check out the Olympic ski jump venue also.

I enjoyed the Salt Lake City Zoo. I always wanted to visit the Great Salt Lake and we enjoyed ANTELOPE ISLAND which is in the lake

Plenty of alcohol available.

Go to Ruby Snap cookies, awsome cookies and great service. Expensive for cookies but well worth it.

I lived there back in the late 70s, and heve been out there skiing many times.
The Alpine Loop is pretty cool....take in the Sundance Resort.
Little Cottonwood Canyon will get you to Snowbird and Alta.
Solitude up in the Big Cottonwood Canyon is cool.
Head out to the Kennecott Copper mine for an eye opening experience.
Of course, the Great Salt Lake is outside of town.

Powder Mountain if you ski or snowboard, that place is heaven on earth. Everywhere I have ever eaten in SLC is the best food ever, there is something special about that place, I can't put my finger on it but I one day I will probably live around there, or at least have a place there to stay during the winters, best snowboarding I have ever done. All of the people I have met there are super nice and welcoming, I was never exposed to any LDS or any religious anything. Partied like rock stars at night, plenty of booze there. Have fun, Wasatch Range is spectacular. Snowbird has one of the biggest bowls I have ever seen.

Crown burger.

In general the restaurants are not good there.

Red iguana for Mexican.

Beer is 3.2 at regular stores. Wine liq and regular beer at state owned stores with odd hours.

The natural history museum was cool as hell.
