Outboard motor oil?

I just realized I haven't checked the level in my Yamaha F115 all summer. In my defense I'd normally check every other week but for the past 9 years I've never had to add a drop.

What do you guys do?

The ones with 2 strokes don't give it a seconds thought.

Not true, if you have an oil tank or reservoir you check it's level from time to time no? If you self mix you check to see how much you have on hand.

So BlueRudy is wrong

I've had both. With the 4 stroke I always wondered do I need to check the oil next time I run it?
With the 2 strokes this was never a worry for me. Oil was topped off every time I filled gas tank.

I never checked my 2 stroke oil tanks because they had alarms on them that alerted me when they were getting low. It was just normal procedure to fill up the oil tanks when I fueled up. The oil tanks were under the center console and were a pain in the a$$ to put oil in and equally as hard to see how much oil were in them. I hated adding oil because it was almost impossible to avoid spilling some.

My 2 stroke has an alarm if there is a lack of oil in the reservoir.
