Default Do you do anything when you see drivers texting, putting on make up, etc?

I was at a stop light today and I seen a car coming up fast in the left lane and he blew right through the red light, I could see he was texting when he went by me. He was lucky lucky lucky that he didn't T-bone anyone because it's a very busy intersection. I got the plate number and called the city police dept. and their tone was like they were blowing me off.

I have called the State Highway Patrol a couple of times, once was a guy that was all over the road and was obviously f'ed up. I called the SHP about a car full of kids passing and driving like maniacs and cut a guy off when they changed lanes in front of him forcing the guy to spin out and go off of the road. I stayed behind the drunk guy and sure enough the SHP was in the median and pulled out right behind me and pulled the guy over. I don't know if they ever caught the kids that were driving like idiots.

I'm wondering if I am the only one that calls a LEO when you see any one driving recklessly because they are impaired or texting? I know someone else called the police on me when I was making a right turn and the road was iced over. I couldn't turn and ran up the curb and mowed down a stop sign. I parked the car and walked back and bent the sign back up so no one would not stop when they were supposed to stop. Three days later I received a letter that I needed to be in court for a hit and run and I had no idea what it was about until I got to court. Ended up one of the cars that seen me hit the stop sign called the police on me. I told the judge that yes I did hit the sign but I was responsible enough to go back and push the sign back up so nobody would get hurt. He dismissed the hit and run charge.....thankfully!

Snitches get stitches

Let him crash, maybe he'll learn. Mind your own business.

I used to blast my horn at them but I scared the sh1t out of a few of them and almost caused an accident, I figured it isn't worth it.

Yeah. Make sure I'm way ahead of them with a few cars in between.

The problem with that theory, William, is that crash may take your life.
But I didn't see any emocons laughing or smiley faces, so I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not.

I beep at some of them ( phone surfers) especially if they're doing something screwd up.
A had an old guy ( I'm 60) almost hit me the other day passing him on the left on a two lane 30MPH road .
As I went by I could see him looking down at his phone. I yelled at him to put the damn phone down before he hit someone. He pulled over. A young broad would have given me the finger and continued what she was doing .

I typically throw my beer at them then get another out of the cooler I have set up in the bed just behind the rear window.

Gotta recline my seat back all the way and steer with my leg but it's not too bad.

Only once I called (well my wife actually called) about a drunk driver. This guy was all over the road, stopped a few times, tried turning only to run over the curb, etc... Stayed on 911 with the lady to give the cops directions. He finally went down a dead end road and was trying to turn around when the cops showed up. I felt bad but it was the right thing to do.

Until they hit someone ever think of that. Typical "I don't want to get involved" attitude.
If someone is driving recklessly I think it is my business just as I think it's your business to try to avoid a tragedy. A few years ago a guy had been drinking all day and jumped in his car and got onto I280 southbound lane and he was going north. He drove for several miles in the wrong direction and no one called the police. He eventually hit a car head on and killed the parents and their 3 young children. He wiped out a whole family because no one wanted to get involved.

I have always gotten "involved" and will continue to do so because I think it's the right thing to do.

Of course they'll only hit trees. No pedestrians or other motorists in their paths when they're texting.

I seen the title and that was enough for me to know I didn't want to watch the video!

I felt bad but it was the right thing to do.
I can understand you feeling a little guilty for doing it but imagine how you would have felt if the guy hit another car and injured or killed someone? I would have a hard time living with myself if that happened.

I saw a lady driver at a traffic light one morning that was drunk as shit. She caught my attention because she slammed on her brakes just pulling up behind another car at the light.
I was in the lane next to her and saw she couldn't even hold her head up straight, so I got behind her and called the cops. Then followed her until they showed up and pulled her over.

I will always make a call when I see someone driving drunk!!
