Default Windows or Android Tablet

I don't use a tablet often, usually to browse a little in bed. My current ancient tablet (Motorola Xoom for those of you born in the ice age) is acting up and the OS is running into sites and video that won't play/display.

We have a Lenovo Yugo Pro which is a nice combo tablet/notebook but it is mainly used as a notebook. I tried to use it as a tablet but it's too heavy to hold up in bed unlike the tablet or a kindle.

I kind of like the idea of a regular window machine so I can log into my big PC if needed. On the other hand I also like light.

So I am torn b/w something like the samsung tablet or a windows tablet. I like the functionality of the surface 4 pro but I am afraid it will also be too heavy.

What do you think? I have not shopped for computer h/w in a while. Apple is out of the question.

The HP and Dell are heavier than the Lenovo. Can't do that.

Based on sales data, the tablet market is dying. I know you said you want one, but either the thinnest/lightest 2in1 notebook or a detachable keyboard/tablet like the MS surface is what people are buying instead.

If it's just a simple/cheap tablet, maybe the Fire.

Leaning to the Ideapad. I have always liked thinkpad/lenovo products and the Yugo pro we have has been a great machine.

There is a 10" one that runs windows too. That is tempting.

The more I think about it I really only use it in bed or occasionally while the wife is watching TV. I have the Yugo pro if I need to actually use a KB or something. I am afraid I am going to buy more than what I need.

Arrggh.

I use a Samsung android that is about 4 years old. Play poker, surf the web, look at instagram, check emails etc. Suits my purpose.

How about a Surface 3 - it is smaller (10.8" screen vs 12.1") than the Surface 4 Pro, lighter (1.5 lbs) and runs an Atom processor so it has 10-12 hours of battery life for about $500.

The tablet market isn't dying. It's just slowing/compressing due to the fact they last a long time.
I have a Lenovo Yoga Pro 3 and it sucks as a tablet. Thankfully it was free.
I think Windows Monile OS sucks. I hate the tiles.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S Pro 10.2 . Great specs but Samsung bloatware sucks.
If I had to buy another tablet, It would be a Nexus 9.

My wife loves her Surface Pro 4 i7. On the other hand I am not so wealthy so I make do with a Kindle Fire HD 10".

I have a pile of tablets. I can use anyone I want. When I want to use a tablet, I grab an iPad. The others are too slow, too heavy or too hard to use.
