I know there are a few around...Crazybeard? I've effectively killed the stock market thread and am pretty much talking to myself in that one now.
I'm pretty boring by trading stocks (well, one stock now), but would still like to keep things interesting and always up for a stock that moves a bit (and I can buy a good # of shares to make a $.10 move worth it) so I figured I'd start this thread.
My only stipulations are:
Post when you buy and at what price
Post when you sell
I figure that's about the best way to keep things honest...anyone can say they make money trading, but we all know it ain't always green!
Any interest? Or, am I pizzin' in the wind here....

I've been holding MUX in my reg brokerage account and rollover IRA account for years. Avg cost in brokerage account was a little over a buck and sold it at $4.61 last month. Avg in rollover IRA was $2.5x and I sold it at $4.41 and sitting in cash waiting on a good opportunity to get back in (I think the stock will go to $10+ in a year or 2). I've since just traded it for a week and have done pretty damn well with it (knock on wood) with about $1500 in short term gains over 1 week or so. That said, I ask myself what the hell am I doing everytime I place an order...then I sit there, at my desk, staring at the screen....lol.

I've been sitting in cash lately. Did buy VXX Jan 2017 options about 2 weeks ago and getting killed on it. ECB and other things deflating volatility. Only 4 contracts so it isn't terrible and I have a long time to recoup.
I'm thinking DWTI might be a play but more like intermediate term. Oil projections around 30 - but that means nothing. We closed at 41.xx if I recall right, which is higher than the trend.
Wishing I had got into NUGT. I was waiting for it to pull back to 100 but it didn't and I stuck to my guns. Hindsight.
Nothing is ever always green. I just hope for more than 50% plus cost. I have been looking into hiring a programmer to create some TOS trading automation and run it back historically. When volatility was higher trading the convergence of moving averages on 1/5/15 min charts was working fairly well, but it was a 10 contract or more scalp play. I would like to see how automating that works. As long as the math works long term, anything is fair game in my book.

I'm mulling over selling MUX today, instead of holding over weekend. If gold can climb back above $1340 or so today, MUX should rise some more. Last I looked, it was $4.43 so I'm around $300 net gain for the day so far. I'm happy with that, but.....lol

I have a number of positions that I will probably stay long on,
These are some I am fooling around with and may trade out of on a moment's notice.
I bought CLNY at about 15.80 and plan to hang on for a while.
SLV @ ~15
STAG @ 19.59
