I would have loved to swap my buy position with RKT with TCNNF!

Do your own research. As close as you are to retirement, I would not be making stock picks bases on what other THT'ers are buying!

Took a a little jump on RKT while back too, wish I did not. Might just cut my loss and add to my TCNNF position.

Not for me but I'm a long holder, I know you like to make a lot of trades however and this is on the OTC. I'm lucky that I have doubled my money on this one thus far so I'm gonna let it run.

I bought RKT @ $26.535 and sold at $20 so don't listen to anything I have to say.

I bought PLTR @10.365 and it's finally above that at least.

I could have gotten a double in 2 months on $50k invested (bet) in April...then pocketed 50 and rebuy everything yesterday. Who's got a time machine, I need to go slap myself on June 7th.

So this may be a need a thread all to itself. But can someone explain why a stock can crush earnings and immediately drop? I know some will say “the price already reflected good earnings”, but I’m just not seeing that in many cases. There have been quite a few as of late...

Sometimes it is a run up in price into earnings, concerns about margins, guidance or any number of other things.

Part of why I take a looong view and look at earnings price drops, as a possible place to add additional shares...

I rarely buy anything that I don't do my own research on, RKT looked like it was growing significantly so I took the chance. I'm very happy with my own decisions except for MJ stocks.

Apparently RKT just has a weird ownership structure (as per Cramer). Other then that the business is booming. Be interesting to see what it does this upcoming ER.

As far as ER I just need to learn how to pick the ones that will pop on ER or lead up to ER not drop. I’ve hit quite a few home runs on ER but I’ve been burned on a few here lately as well. For instance carmax a few weeks ago, I got in early before ER they crushed it and it freaking dropped like $10 a share got my clock cleaned on that one. No rhyme or reason that I can see. But on the flip side carvanna flew up on ER.

I got dinged by Carmax as well.

ER has been a really tough trade recently.

Ive done better getting in and out early.

Depending on the stocks you are looking at projected earnings could have been set low to begin with because of Covid. So “crushing earnings” was expected and still not enough to satisfy investors.
