I'm long on RKT but confused by those expecting a significant earnings pop since the company announced preliminary 2Q results back on August 11th. In light of that, aren't earnings already priced in and how much of an upside surprise could there really be tomorrow? I'm certainly no expert so somebody tell me what I'm missing. Good luck to all!

with the recent IPO Im sure/hope they blow away expectations. Im holding. Look at the frenzy w ZM.

Went ahead and took my 60% profit, I'm happy with that. Greed has burned me to many times.

profit never hurt anybody. I do kick myself from time to time for selling ZM at 120 but it was a double for me at that point

The possible pop either way will be based on what they say about the future. Not the past.

Probably same article I read, Joe. 6.82% dividend and still well off their 52 week high. Dividend appears to be secure.

I quietly sit back and look learn and listen....I've jumped on the bandwagon a few times on some stock options mentioned...back after the first run of our covid epidemic my stock portfolio took a pretty big hit...and i assume everyone still holding did...but narrowed down to 7 stocks and put it all in equally and I've More than doubled my entire stock holdings since around April, to the point its larger than my 401K I've been contributing to for 28 years...i know this bubble won't last forever and think I've become just a tad greedy...real soon I'm considering selling and investing in several Vanguard funds to ride out the elections...maybe lucky or maybe skill I don't know, but I know this roll can't go on forever...I watch my stocks throughout the day and feel like before a total crash I can escape with minimal loss but lately with 6,7,8k gains daily its hard to jump ship ...AAPL, AMD, AMZN, BABA, NVDA, PYPL, TSLA....
These have done me well the last few months but I'm sure the wave will soon crash......

No expert either, far from it really.
But what you said is Exactly what I was thinking.
Might buy some shares today for the long term.

Will be further increasing my position in TCNNF today. The stock has remained in the low 20's allowing a buying opportunity day after day. My plan is for it to go 5x.

I felt the same way earlier this year. I lost all of 2019 gains. My broker convinced me to stay in - and he was right. We did re-balance the portfolio in January, so losses were minimized. This means exactly what you want to do - take your gains and purchase more conservative MF's. ETF's or bonds. You need to take into account the tax liability for proper allocation.

We are holding half our normal equity allocation out of the market until after the election or if a major dip occurs.

RKT has great financial numbers. My broker said it is too new for an analyst to have reviewed or recommend this stock. That said, he thinks their profits are outstanding and we took a position. If the economy tanks and new home monies dry up, that would be a good time to get out perhaps.

I wish I knew but there is usually a pullback bout 1hr after open. But it would appear this is preparing for lift off. Also depends if there is a big sell off before ER later today. I’m holding in at 28.39 for a lot.

Just touched $34. Wonder if it makes sense to sell at the open and see if you can buy back in a little cheaper on a dip.
